We are a new church that is having it's first service on Dec. 5th at 6:30 pm. You can find out more information at www.one-waychurch.com. We are a church that wants people to know God loves and accepts you as you are. Nothing you can do or have done can stop God form loving you! You are a worthwhile person very special to God. He knew you were before you were born and He wants you to know Him as well.

This Sunday at 6:30?

That is right during "Sarah Palin's Alaska" on TLC network. This is the episode where Sarah and Bristol go deep sea fishing.

I can't make it. Good luck.

Do you all talk in tongues or handle snakes?

Do they use a boat? I thought she walked on water.

She knows where the stepping stones are.

Do you all talk in tongues or handle snakes?

According to their site they do #1, but not #2

That didn't come out right.

That made it worse.

But seriously, they list speaking in tongues, but not interpreting, which means they likely go the path of "if you speak in tongues, great. If not, that's great too."

Welcome Jon.  Ignore the comments above.  We like to joke a bit.  Don't take it personal.  Most of us respect the beliefs of others, even if they don't reflect our own.  You are certainly welcome here and I hope you feel comfortable taking part in the conversation.

I happen to agree with you.  In my mind, anyone can be whoever they want and can believe and worship however they please.  The problem I have is that 99% of organized religions do not agree with this.  I highly doubt this "new" church is any different.

Ok, let's check out that "respect the beliefs of others" - let me just say one word.  Muslim.

Jon, I second Gaspar.  Try not to take any of this personally.  You already know you have to follow the path you are shown.

My only serious question on the topic would be that with thousands of church's already going in the area, many of whom do speak in tongues, why would there be a need for another new one?  Seems like a serious dilution of resources to establish another church support infrastructure.  Wouldn't the support and giving be more effective - greater leverage - in an already existing church?

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

RecycleMichael

Yes, welcome Jon.

We were kidding. I really don't watch the Palin show.

If I come to your church will you promise to come to mine?

I've got a new hook that will make all other churches obsolete:

Discount church.

No tithe, I just want 7.5% of your earnings.  Consider it cheaper salvation.

Still not cheap enough.
