Could someone post photos of this?  I don't understand the controversy since I seldom visit Deep South Tulsa.

May you live in interesting times.

Don't feel bad.  Furthest south I go usually is 51st.  Except for visiting my brother at 81st.  And Aspen, so it's not really Tulsa.  Most South Tulsans need filters in their nostrils anyway.

I got as far north as 41st between Memorial and Sheridan birthday shopping for mom yesterday at the Stock Pot / Smalley Restaurant Equipment store.  It was like a whole different country.  Sorry Guido, had to say it.

Man, I had to go all the way to 111th the other night. It felt like I was driving all the way to Texas. I made up for it by heading up to 46th Street North the day after, though. That averages out to about 31st Street. ;)

Just don't let it happen again. We simply cannot allow ourselves to mingle with the unwashed masses. :D

When the family moved here from PA in 71, we had walkie-talkie communications between the cars.  After we got off I-44 and turned south on Memorial, it seemed like forever.  I radioed dad and asked if we were going to Mexico.  He said no, it was only a few more miles.  Memorial was 2 lanes south of the RR tracks at 41st.  Some of dad's co-workers asked why he moved so far out (previously discussed at length) and didn't it take forever to get there. At the time it was only about 5 minutes more than the guys that lived around 51st  to 61st between Memorial and Yale. That obviously changed.

I'll make sure I have my shots (medical, not liquor) and sanitize my clothing after I return.

So, do I need an entry visa on my passport to go there?  And are wild-eyed, pot-smoking, former Hippies and Democrats allowed entry at the border?

If you mean deep south Tulsa, I don't think you will get beyond the electrified fences and sniper towers.

You guys talk a mean game, but you leave the back door open. Taking the turnpike allows one to avoid passport control.

You'll be OK as long as you stay on the turnpike.  It's a limited access highway.  Access can be on or off the road.  It's a deal we have the the OTA.  They make some money and it keeps you from direct contact with us.
