...meet two who violated it today, by voting in the House before they had been sworn in.

I thought Sullivan was the only one who missed the swearing in.

"Squawk"

This is your title? really? Thinking that those we elected should read what they are swearing an oath to is squawk? It's the United States Constitution for crying out loud! So next the Bill of Rights should never be read? God forbid anyone should ever abide by or read either of these documents that our country was founded on.

As for the idiots that did not swear and voted..

Emily Davis, a spokeswoman for Sessions, said that Sessions rectified the situation Thursday afternoon, after it came to his attention that he had not been properly sworn in. "During the swearing in of the 112th Congress, Congressman Sessions stated the oath publicly in the Capitol but was not on the House floor. To ensure that all constitutional and House requirements are fulfilled, Congressman Sessions officially took the oath of office this afternoon from the House floor. Public records and votes will be adjusted accordingly," she said.

He should be smacked upside his head for this and maybe even kicked in the jewels as well.

So the Lib's ( and yes I am assuming your a LIB Hoss by your title ) have a new horse to jump on, the reading and abiding by the Constitution. Ride that puppy, ride it hard.

If you don't actually know the rules, you don't have to worry if your legislation follows them.

Awesome point Red. +1

Oh my, the petty sniping in the media has begun.

Must be getting even for the botched swearing in of President Obama of Kenya.  ;)

Looks like I touched a nerve.

So since when is it OK to harp and harp and harp about the 'unconstitutionality' of something, and then do something unconstitutional?  I just reposted what I saw on my news feed.  Not like only liberal media outlets are sourcing this.

You can go back to your racy dreams about Michele Bachman and Palin now.

;D

And I'm going to assume that you're a Repig Moon, since after all, you can certainly tell one's ideology by a name?  Or would that be more akin to 'Tulsamoonbat'?

The two Congressmen forgot.

At least they didn't mis-speak.

Not yet, anyhow.  Just in case, I'm working on my first draft law suit for breach of contract  ;)

Not sure my point is being made.

If you're the party of being ultra strict to the word of the Constitution, then on your first day, it might behoove you to not violate it by voting in the House when you haven't been sworn in.

Especially when your peers are reading it.

That's all that's being made of this.  IMO, of course.

It's a petty issue, and I'm really not finding grand irony considering the major overhaul that just happened.  BFD, so two representatives messed up. It's a kerfluffle.  It's "gotcha" journalism and an unfortunate preview of the petty road to 2012.  I mistakenly hoped we were beyond this.

Really?  After the last election?  Did you see some of the vitriol spewed?  Both sides sickened me.  It's not surprising this is happening.  The name calling this cycle was astronomical.

'Socailist' for starters?

Great, I'll play along.  At what point will we quit tripping over ourselves to point out these minor foibles on a daily basis?

At some point, someone will have to be the first one to say that petty partisanship is further bucking up the country and decline to make big deals out of nothing other than for the sole purpose of fomenting hatred for the majority party. Care to be a part of that movement?

Then just repeat it again and again.  Sometimes louder and slower helps.   ;D

You are hired for a new job and you forget to show up the first day.

If I were the boss I would fire them.

Unless the people who elected them (their actual bosses) want to fire them, they are still there.

The constitution requires that they be present for that vote. They were not.

The vote is Null, and must be retaken.

The spectacle of calling back all members of the house for a re-vote should be the lesson, and certainly will affect attendance in the future.

They have embarrassed their bosses.
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.
