Lasik eye surgery

Who's had it?  Where'd you go?  Would you recommend where you went?

Thanks in advance.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.  I can do it.

Gracias pero no.

I'm just way tired of wearing contacts.

Funny, FMC and I were just talking about this last night.  I've debated it but decided I really don't mind glasses that much.  Besides, my problem is astigmatism (sp?) and I don't believe they can correct it since it's due to the eye changing shape with age.

Triad.  Lasted 11 years, but that was 11 years free of glasses or contacts.

I had it done 5 years ago at Triad but elected to not get the insurance. My mistake. I need a touchup but I'll gladly spend the 2K again. Life without glasses is definitely worth it.

Two kids went to Mexico to have it done.  Couple hundred bucks each and it has been as good as anything here in the states.  Plus they got a vacation out of it.

Looks like there is ongoing need for "refresh" from time to time.

Not gonna do it.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Be careful, some of that LASIK you buy on the beach in Mexico is fake.

They are coming up on about 10 years, so am wondering where they are going to go for there 'refresher'.  I guess they could get it done here, but would cost way more than the original.

Still not gonna do it.

Wife did TLC.   She loves it.   As long as she goes to any optician? (someone who checks your eyes) annually they will touch up for free for life.

She just did their base LASIK, they used to have a "custom" version for an extra $3-400 per eye.

Triad--maybe 10 or 15 years ago.  Was one of the best things I ever did. Would highly recommend.  I got in when offering free touch-ups for life and the results of touch up were even better. Before original surgery and even after, had trouble seeing at night.  After touch-up, even night vision was amazingly clear.

Probably 5 years ago when did touch up. Have not been back since then, but based on that my experience then would recommend Triad and surgery.

Do they knock you out for this procedure ?
Cause there is no way I could lay there all Clockwork Orange like, while a laser or knife is cutting the flaps on my bulbs.
I also have the fear of being awake and hearing the Doc say something to the likes of.....Opps, thats the first time Ive seen that happen. Can ya see me now ? Can ya see me now ?
Oh noooo. The one sense I will not let go of is eye sight. You can have my smell and even taste, hell I'll give up touch even. Sight and Hearing are 1 and 2 in my books.
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

I've had a couple unrelated eye events with cutting while awake.  It was interesting.  Not a lot of fun, but interesting.

I rank having things put in my eyes right up there to being poked with needles.  That's the reason I can't er don't wear contacts.
