I had ONE more day till I got the mural I am working on done so that I could get paid.  I just don't think I am gonna be able to make it all the way up to north Owasso to finish it today.  Especially now that I don't have the Murano.  That Murano could run circles in the snow around most everything else.  With the slow economy and me trying to start the Art Deco Museum, I thought it wise to downsize, and right now I have a little Ford Ranger.  That thing goes into a tailspin if it drizzles lol.  I may be stuck in this house all week!  :o

Trust me, you don't want to drive to Owasso today.  The snowplows have been stuck a few times because they can't see the side of the road and run off into a ditch.  I'm hoping that the ambulance and fire calls are minimal today because they'll have a difficult time getting through.

May you live in interesting times.

I've heard from some friends on FB that the Hard Rock Casino had a roof collapse, but not seeing any news on it yet. Any one confirm?

Never mind, KOTV just updated their web page.

I woke up this morning, looked at camera's around town on the phone, shook my head and called the boss lady.  She told me not to come in today (I didn't even get to ask).  So I guess I get to study today.  I really want Starbucks, but I'm afraid they won't be open when I get there.

If you plan on coming downtown today, avoid Boulder between 4th and 2nd.  The wind has blown all the snow in the Brady District into a pile in front of the Bankruptcy Court building.

Been a bad week for the casinos in town.

Earlier this week River Spirit had to shut down due to a water main break and then was delayed even more when they broke a gas main trying to fix the water break.

Now Hard Rock's roof collapse.

Humm?...............Karma at work?
Trust but verify

Our office is officially open but we were told to take a day of vacation if we didn't think we could safely get to work.  If Bixby doesn't plow the street in front of our house, I may have to take tomorrow off too.  Last time that happened was in the late 80s.  I shoveled 11" of snow from the driveway, which got me to the end of the driveway.

Did they build that place with paper mache?

I think I'm going to see if I can make it downtown to get some pictures. :P Should be interesting...

I know that whenI worked for them in the mid 80's nad in the early 90's they would be open during weather like this.

Is this a record snowfall? I don't remember one this bad.

One set of tracks up (or down) the hill in front of my house with a 4wd Toyota Tundra at the bottom of the hill. Hilarious snow drifts half way up the side of cars on the street and beautiful snow laden gusting winds.

My Blue Heeler is ecstatic. She jumped into a drift and became totally covered up, emerged at full speed and a smile on her face. Has the whole neighborhood to herself. My Yorkie prefers to pee under the carport and come back in.

Talk about bad luck. The Boat Show opened yesterday and runs through the 6th. As I drove by last nite for the opening I saw it had a pretty good turnout.

Also, I am not so surprised about the roof collapse at the casino. When it first opened I noticed the concrete around the entry way was already spalding and cracking. The interior construction, if you could look past the lighting, was real average at best. I suspect using "approved" contractors may have taken a toll in quality. I don't know if its any worse than similar buildings but it looked kind of tilt-up warehouse construction to me.
