If today's cars weighed what a Beetle did, they probably could drive over the top without sinking in! ;)

The (relatively) large diameter, skinny tires were probably better in snow that the wide tires we all like so much now.

People apparently don't know the rocking method of freeing your car. I keep seeing morons who can get their car to move a few feet forward and backward but can't get out.

Forward-reverse-forward-reverse in quick succession until your momentum builds enough to get out. It's not that difficult.

Our last scheduled once weekly trash pickup was last Monday and it was done. We'll see if they pick up tomorrow. We sometimes get missed even in good weather.

We had mail in the mailbox by the street on Saturday but before our regular delivery time.  I had shoveled a path from the edge of the packed snow in the street to the mailbox on Thursday.  I don't know if it was a late Friday or early Saturday delivery.  Part of the mail was mail order prescription medicine.  That may have been a factor. Yesterday I shoveled a section for the postal delivery person to drive to the mailbox without having to get out of the truck.

My family's annual ski trip is later this week. I hope Tulsa International is open.

My cousin flew in from a ski trip wed and landed at TUL.  She posted this photo from the window of the plane

NWS estimate for next week's snowstorm:

I expect a dramatic change. The models are all over the freakin' place. The NAM shows around a foot here. GFS shows around 6 inches, as it's taking the storm further south..

Has anyone seen all the school closings for tomorrow? This is getting downright ridiculous.

I will be "camping out" at the Airport Radisson on Tues & Wed. so there is no chance of me missing my flight because I am snowed in. Now, let's hope the flight isn't canceled.

The neighborhood streets are still completely trashed. I was slipping and sliding a lot more today than yesterday. Ice with a thin layer of snow is far preferable to ice with a thin layer of slush.

I wouldn't be surprised to see spring break canceled if the parents don't get too upset about the idea...

Well my kids have school tomorrow. Roads can't be that bad.

Come drive around my neighborhood and tell me that. Most TPS schools aren't on main roads and most of the kids walk to school.
