I travel from Coweta to Owasso.  Currently I'm on AT&T's network.  I guess I like their coverage, I lose a call every now and then in a known dead zone in Owasso though.  However I don't like their fees.

Other than AT&T, what are some decent carriers in this part of Oklahoma?  What about data coverage as well?

I've been eying the Virgin Mobile's plans as they have an amazing price point, but I won't make the leap to VM if the service sucks here.

I have used US Cellular for about 10 years and have never dropped a call in Tulsa or had any problems with them.

Their employees, at 41st and Sheridan store, seem to be happy and some have worked there as long as I have been a customer.

Good Company!

US Cellular has apparently made a HUGE turn about in operation.  At one time, they were the worst of all.  Have a couple friends using them and they are very happy, too.  Have been thinking about changing.  AT&T has taken Cingular and beat it like a rented mule!

Couple others like Verizon and Cricket.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I've been on AT&T for six or seven years and within the Tulsa and OKC metros and along the Turner it's great coverage.  I just returned from a week out in NM and Colorado and their coverage is horrible out there, as they seem to pick and choose.  Data or text? What's that?  I understand you won't get great coverage in rural parts of the mountains, but on the western side of Pagosa Springs, the signal was spotty, yet up at Wolf Creek ski resort, full bars.

Been with U. S Cellular for 12 years and they are great to deal with if problems pop up.

US Cellular was my very first mobile company.  They screwed up my bill so bad without fixing it properly I left them and vowed never to return.  I still vow that to this day.

T-Mobile's good in town and the close-in suburbs. I wouldn't want to go on a long journey with only T-Mobile, though.

You're not going to do better than at&t or US Cellular for coverage, though. They are, after all, the only two carriers with cellular licenses here. The rest are PCS and/or AWS.

If your problem is the bill, your best bet (presuming you don't use the phone a ton) is to look at the prepaid resellers. (Tracfone, NET10, Firefly, etc.)

Was anyone aware that CellularOne still exists?  They apparently are in SW Colorado and were running a lot of ads soliciting Alltel customers who appear to be losing their service.

It was, and still is, a franchise. AT&T Wireless owned the brand (and then Cingular/the "new" at&t) until they were forced to divest it as part of of their merger with Western Wireless or Dobson.

I vaguely remember traveling in SE Oklahoma when I first got Cingular and when roaming seeing "Dobson" as the network...

The reason I'm dropping AT&T is I don't like their prices on their plans anymore.

We're spending $110 just for voice (1400 min, 2 lines, and a bit of text ($5 200 text plan)).

On the other hand I can spend $70, get Unlimited Data and Unlimited Text and a BUTT LOAD of minutes (1200 on one phone, 1500 on the other).

I basically get to finally upgrade to smart phone, get the minutes I need, and the PRICE I wanna pay :D

The SO and I have had good luck with Virgin phones the last 6 months or so, only issue is they don't have coverage in SE OK anymore. Which is weird considering they are on the sprint network and sprint has coverage down here (spotty coverage but coverage non the less.) Never had issues with Virgin in Tulsa or any of its suburbs.

We where with T-Mobile before Virgin never had issues with them either just got tired of being tethered to a contract though they have some pretty good plans going on from time to time so never know.
Thank you,
Robert Town
