A Super-Cuts is coming soon (former Java Dave's spot).

Need a sandwich and/or hair-cut?   Downtown's the place you need to be.

I can absolutely say I didn't expect a supercuts.

There are at least 3 salons in the CBD (4th and Cincinnati, 2 around 5th and Main) and 3 more at least in Uptown (18th Boston, 16th Main, 16th Carson)...the problem? None of them are open after regular business hours and some of the ones I've walked into were not happy to have a walk in. SuperCuts should do very well there.

While I've been butchered repeatedly by Supercuts in several states, I choose to see this as an encouraging economic sign.  If Supercuts figures they can make money on haircuts in downtown Tulsa -- or rather, that there are enough people in downtown Tulsa who need their hair cut -- then that has to be a positive sign, right?

Couldn't they put in a cell phone store instead?

Yes, that is a true sign of economic relevance.

I remember when they had a Supercuts on Campus Corner in Norman.  They were closing down and I asked one of the stylists why and she said "lack of parking".  I thought that was interesting considering none of the businesses that do very well on Campus Corner have problems with the lack of parking and a haircut shop next to a campus of ~26,000 students would have a healthy amount of walk-up business...

I go to Supercuts in Brookside but would probably go to this one, especially if they have regular hours as I doubt I would have to wait after 5..

Glad to see someone noticed the small 'pardon our mess' sign  :)

While it may have taken a little longer than expected, we looked at this as an opportunity to bring a national level and recognizable name to the downtown core.  One we hope will inspire many more to join us in the business district in the coming year.  This Supercuts location will be able to service the significant amount of clientele (approximately 30,000 people) present in the core between 8-5 Monday through Friday, and have some revenue capability from surrounding businesses, hotels and existing/planned residential on the weekends.

It is a great fit, keeping in mind the business traveler that makes up a bulk of the Atlas Courtyard Marriott's business.

We still have one space to fill in the Atlas Courtyard's lobby if anyone is interested ;)  We are also encouraging local entrepreneurs and concepts to join us..if you know of any, please let us know.

Thanks.

There is also a barber in the basement of the midcon.

Still - anything going in downtown is good news to me!

There's already an old-school barber and a new salon called Centric in the PhilTower building
The MidCon basement has barber
( so there's already 3 without ever stepping outside.. that's more than the Mall.. this will be #4 )
Something on Cincinatti between 3rd and 4th St
Hair on the Square which I think's @ 5th @ Main  (there with Impressions)
One on 4th St  (Reunion Bldg I think)
according to google-maps there may be salons in the Petroleum Club bldg, the "Casa Laredo" bldg, and the tower & 7th and bolder (with Hillcrest

getting a little further away, there's Elements next to where the Tiny Lounge Was
and I think there's something in the Brady area

Carltonplace:
You mentioned the salon in 16th & Carson, if so it was called the Mansion House Beauty Salon formerly located in the Mansion House Apartment building at 1638 south Carson Ave. I used to work in the building at the Mansion House Cafe so I know about them but it was forced to close along with the cafe due to some upcoming remodel to the building. The salon will be converted into a "yoga" room while the cafe will be turned into an activity/library room. The current actvity room will be transformed into classrooms for something (not sure what). So both the cafe & salon are gone for good. What a sad day that was on our last day.

Sweet. I'm no fan of Supercuts, but the current downtown salons are terrible in terms of hours. 9-5 M-F would actually be an improvement over most of their craptastic hours (3 hours a day? why bother operating a business?)

Saturdays are for haircuts, and I think the nearest barber/salon open on Saturday to downtown may be Brookside, or 15th and Lewis maybe.

I believe Hair on the Square is 9-5 M-F

Who needs a barber when you can have a Flowbee instead?
