Watching KOTV and they are showing the refinery on fire.
Trust but verify

It sounds like KOTV let the refinery PR people write the news report:

Fire crews say fumes venting from a slop tank caught fire releasing non-toxic hydro carbon.

Non-toxic hydrocarbon?

I captured this picture on my cell phone of the non-toxic hydrocarbon giving off love:

Large Fire Reported at Tulsa Refinery

http://kwgs.com/post/large-fire-reported-tulsa-refinery-0

QuoteTULSA, Okla. (AP) — Fire crews have been battling a large fire at an oil refinery in Tulsa.

Neighbors told local news outlets they heard an explosion at the refinery in west Tulsa early Thursday.

No other details were immediately available.

The refinery is owned by Dallas-based HollyFrontier Corp. According to the company's website, the Tulsa refinery has a crude oil capacity of 125,000 barrels a day.

I can't believe that place is a working refinery. It looks like a place that Freddy Kruger or Pinhead would hang out.

It is NOT Earth Day. And this LIABILITY of a company should not only be held accountable for telling only the truth but fined heavily for not doing so. This city is abused by Holly. THE COMPANY lowers our standard of living, adds to ozone levels, and may cause lung damage.

When I heard this morning that all information of this fire was being kept under wet blankets I thought "bullsh!T".

You do realize their fire department is vastly better equipped to deal with a refinery blaze, don't you?  It's not a matter of being covert, it's simply a matter of wanting to have all facts together before making public statements.  If it will make you feel better I will ask two of my cycling buddies who work on the fire crew about it.

Far better chance of lung damage hanging out with smokers.  Relax.

When they were SunOil my father was firefighter out there (well, he was actually a machinist but he also signed on in volunteer capacity as a firefighter).  He fought two fairly good sized ones in the early 80s.  Those guys are trained heavily and Sun didn't BS around about safety.

I'm not sure about Holly but one would hope they're just as adamant about it.

Good for him.  It was probably somewhat like everyone learning to fight shipboard fires in Navy Bootcamp.  There was a reason to learn to fight fires.

Probably, but he volunteered.  I never really knew alot about it because I was still in grade school.  I always wondered why he never wore facial hair.  He told me that they wouldn't let him because it couldn't seal the face masks properly if they did.
