Props to multitasking:  Obama was releasing his birth certificate and memorizing his Press Association speech while he was giving the order to take out Bin Laden.  That's some respectable bandwidth right there.
And visiting Alabama.

Meanwhile, here comes the conspiratorial theory from the far side.....of the left.

Bin Laden Dead, Says Obama
http://www.truth-out.org/white-house-osama-bin-laden-dead/1304304877

from the comments:"My point is that this so-called "news" about the assassination of Osama Bin Laden may be simply another myth in a murky game of psyops"

Reportedly....Says.... code wording for conspiracy...

I mean ok . . . but quoting comments on Truth Out is pretty much a worthless pursuit.  The data points you think you're collecting are as hollow as the commentary on Red State or LGF.  You're collecting the most ideological of the partisans, and the most compromised.

Also:  if it ain't gospel yet that every major news development will generate a conspiracy ecosystem then it should be.  Because there will always be people who will wildly distrust that things are actually, you know, happening the way they're supposed to be happening.

You know, I didn't expect the massive crowd at the white house.

When big events go down it can be both entertaining and enlightening to check the conspiracy websites for the "alternate" point of view.  It is up to you to decide whether you believe it or not.  I think FOTD was just trying to add to the discussion.  That is the fun part about the internet, you don't get your information in a linear fashion - Literally EVERYTHING is available for you to soak up.

My first thought was Wow, might be a bad time to form a large crowd.  Someone sympathetic to the movement with access to explosives would be prone to act right now.   Hope they have good security presence.

When American's were killed they did that.  We called them savages.  The
Difference being the deaths normally being civilians vs sworn enemies though.  Still didn't expect that.

We in no way needed to give him a bully pulpit to speak his evil and create his final aura as a martyr to Islam. He is dead, we can prove it, he can't speak, and he will never have a burial place to become a shrine, this is perfect.

But...but...but what about his Constitutional rights and rights under the Geneva Convention?

I think there's been a standing order for about 10 years  ;)

Listening to some of the reporting this morning though, he was getting real-time updates (audio and video).  Pretty interesting stuff.

I was rather taken aback by some of the heads on MSM last night.  They were crowing about the delicious irony this fell on the eighth anniversary of "mission accomplished".  If there's lingering resentment toward President Bush or favoritism toward President Obama, it was thinly disguised last night.

I don't want to diminish President Obama's part in this, major props.  It's a big (Biden expletive here) deal.  It's also important to remember the operation was carried out by some incredibly brave men and women and let's not forget all the lives lost over the years in the pursuit of OBL.  Too bad this doesn't mean WOT is over.

according to Fox News, President Obama had very little to do with the killing of Osama bin Laden.   They are giving almost all the credit to former President George W Bush.  Wasn't he the president who said

You have to wonder, how many of those troops were practicing bravery last night and how many were just outright after some vengence.  Personally, I think if I was one of them, I would have been one of the latter.

Does anybody know if any of our people were injured/killed?
