Is "The District" a Kitchell club?

Tulsa World:

QuoteTwo men were booked into the Tulsa Jail on Monday after a weekend night club drive by in Jenks where men shot at a crowd of 35-40 people, records show.

No was injured in the attack early Sunday morning at The District, a nightclub on the Jenks RiverWalk in the 500 block of Riverside Terrace, according to jail records.

Jenks police report two men drove by the club as a crowd was outside and fired five to six shots about 2:11 a.m.

Kerreyeh Harrison, 23, and Paul Stallings, 25, were booked into the Tulsa Jail on Monday evening on one complaint each of shooting with intent to kill.

Their bonds were set at $75,000.

Harrison and Stallings were arrested on allegations that they shot at the crowd after being kicked out of The District earlier in the night, police report.

The same security guards that kicked them out prior to the alleged Sunday morning shooting saw them later at a Sapulpa club and called police, records show.

The security guards called police to a club at Town West Shooping Center near 49th West Avenue and Interstate 44 where they apparently worked after finishing at The District, jail records indicate.

Why are they in the Tulsa jail? Shouldnt they be in the Jenks jail?

Conan71

Drive by shooting, I think that's compulsory behavior at a Kitchell club.  I can't believe that POS is still slithering around Tulsa.

If you go out there on a weekend night, TCSO helps Jenks police patrol the area. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Tulsa annexed the Riverwalk, because Jenks could not provide the support it needed...correct me if I'm wrong. Also, across the river on the other side of the bridge, the Quiktrip on 96th and Riverside temporarily closes (they put barricades at all the entrances) around the 2 a.m. hour since that is the time those clubs close and crime rates at that particular gas station go up since it's the nearest open late night convenience store. I pick up Jenks police on my scanner and they always have a ton of radio activity at night and 70% of their calls end up being Riverwalk related. You can not police a city if you have one little spot on the map taking up most of your time away from the rest of the tax paying public...that is why TCSO is there.

They likely are in the Tulsa jail because it's the Tulsa County Jail.

Could be wrong, but I don't believe Jenks, BA, Bixby, Owasso, Sand Springs, et al have much more than holding cells or drunk tanks.  Guys like this would go to the DL Moss where they've got adequate personnel and facilities.

Good lord, so much misinformation.

First off, yes this is owned by the piece of crap Kitchell.

Second, Jenks has some holding cells, but for detainees there for more than just drunk tank issues or simple municipal charges the "Tulsa Jail" is the Tulsa COUNTY Jail and serves the whole county not just the city of Tulsa. Jenks is in Tulsa County. The Riverwalk is in the city of Jenks, it has not been annexed by the city of Tulsa, and won't be. Tulsa COUNTY Sheriff officers being there has nothing to do with the CITY of Tulsa.

The city of Jenks is working hard to close this place down but they lost the last round in Tulsa County Court.

You beat me to it.

This kind of confusion frustrates me, like when people were outraged with Kathy Taylor over the fairground's treatment of Bell's.

How does it work swake?

Tulsa County Sherriff arrest: Held in HL Moss and no city entity is billed
TPD arrest: Held in HLM and COT is billed $54 per person per diem
JPD arrest: Option to transfer to HLM and COJ America is billed $?? pppd?

The city of Jenks is billed if they are held on city charges. I'm not guessing that a drive by is a city charge.

I know its off topic, but since COJ has a jail to hold drunks or other municiple offenders I would think that it is rare that they transfer inmates to HLM on city charges and I could assume they probably rarely pay the county.

COT on the other hand traded in our outdated jail for HLM so we pay for all of our city inmates to be held there. HLM is our city jail and it is the county jail.

Drive-bys are state felony charges.  There's no such thing as a municipal felony.  That's why they're in Moss. Their court appearances will be in Tulsa County.

It's interesting that this happened so quickly after Kitchell got the restraining order stopping the City of Jenks from shutting this club down.
