and many of them won't be able to comment on the World website about having to walk over 2 blocks.

QuoteDowntown Tulsa will be the place to be this weekend for three art festivals, a Josh Groban concert Friday night at the BOK Center, and Tulsa Drillers games Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon at ONEOK Field. Several street closures will be in effect.

Three free-admission art festivals will converge on downtown Tulsa this weekend: Tulsa International Mayfest, May 19 - 22; Blue Dome Arts Festival, May 20 - 22; and Deco District Chalk Arts Festival, May 21 - 22.

Streets closed for Mayfest include:

•Third Street between Boulder Avenue and Cincinnati Avenue
•Fourth Street between Boulder Avenue and Boston Avenue
•Fifth Street between Boulder Avenue and Boston Avenue
•Sixth Street between Main Street and Boston Avenue
•Main Street between Third Street and Sixth Street
•Streets closed for the Blue Dome Arts Festival include:
•Second Street between Detroit Avenue and Frankfort Avenue
•Elgin Avenue between First Street and Third Street
•Closed for the Deco District Chalk Arts Festival:
•Boston Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street
For the Josh Groban concert on Friday, May 20, Third Street will be closed between Denver Avenue and Frisco Avenue, and one lane of First Street also will be closed between Denver Avenue and Frisco Avenue.

For the Tulsa Drillers games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Elgin Avenue will be closed as usual between Archer and Brady streets. Also for fireworks on May 20, Archer Street will be closed between Elgin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

Just more proof there's never anything to do in Tulsa.   8)

Looks like FMC is going to move here.  Sure there's an NBA team, some cool buildings and sights to see in the OKC metro, some good entertainment, but OKC does not have near the festival culture we have here.  We both think Tulsa has a more vibrant feel to it.

"Deco District"?

Conan,
Tulsa has it all over OKC in those and many other ways.

Just noticed a new sign last week before getting to Wellston.  Oklahoma City limits.
Like the commercials say; "Really?"

That is about 20 miles east of the "real" Oklahoma City.  What a bunch of idiots.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I saw that.  I think it was about MM 147 which would be 13 to 14 east of the turnpike.  And what's with this Luther/Jones gates which only allows an eastbound exit and westbound entrance?  Does Aubrey McClendon live out that way or something.  Sure seems like a lot of dough to spend for what I would think would be such a low traffic count, unless there really are that many daily commuters near there to justify it.

I did notice that at about 8pm Friday, May 20th there was still plenty of parking in surface lots near the Mayo/old YMCA. Two blocks from either Mayfest or the BOK Center.

But parking whiners wouldn't want to let facts deter them from whining about parking.

There are a surprising number of people out there by Luther.  I have even looked around a little bit.  Kind of nice area, but to stay there when I am in that area would still be a pretty long drive from main traffic pattern.  Exit/entrance is all they need there, too.  But in answer, yeah, someone with some stroke got that put in.  No doubt.

OKC - still stupid after all these years!

At the McDonalds at Wellston, there is a westbound entrance behind the McDonalds, and it shows on Google Maps an exit and an entrance east bound.

That McDonald's has been flattened.  As I recall, it closed last July.  Same with the Bristow one.  Now there's only one about 2 miles west of the main Stroud toll plaza.

This is the only uni-directional exchange on the Turner I can think of.  The only other I can think of like this in the OTA inventory is the Adair exit off the Will Rogers.  It was put in to service south Grand Lake travelers, more or less.

Didn't know that. In a way I'm not suprised, but it's good to know for driving out there this summer.

Yep, your only fuel stop on the pike is midway.

Have they demolished the Phillips 66 stations at either end? Or do you mean human fuel? :P
