Google Maps puts it just south of fourteenth on Peoria.

Just south of the Midland Valley Trail at Peoria.

Highway bridge -> Trail -> empty lot -> *!Midtown subs!* <- Kitchen Corner <- Whataburger <- A&W <-15th St.

Many thanks.  Yep, that should have spectacular sunset views.  Not quite the same as sunset from a rowing shell on the river, but nice nonetheless.

You are so right. Nothing, but nothing (in Tulsa) beats the many views of the sun setting with the river in the foreground and the skyline in the background. I prefer looking from the West on the river with the refinery lights to the right, Newblock to the left and the (UFO)Arena appearing to land in front of the skyline as thousands of birds swirl around waiting their chance to land on the power lines crossing the river.

The view from Zink lake includes the multiple arches of the 23rd street bridge, Sophian Plaza and the hypodermic building (for comic relief).

We are in a small group who have had that privilege.

Each time I wait for the rescue boat to launch for me I take a moment to appreciate the view.

We had a TNF lunch there last spring. If you had come, you'd know where it is  ;). I'm a rendering fanatic, so I can't wait to see these plans. I really hope it turns out to be a signature restaurant. We don't really have many true signature restaurants anymore, and from the very little we know about this, it has potential.

Was that you and your friend, naked, passed out on the sand bar east of Newblock Park last summer?

Not part of the view I had envisioned that day......

I meant to say thanks for the SPF 70.  Life saver.

And unfortunately, no one seems to be in a hurry to fix the gates on the LWD, so I've still not re-upped on my TRC membership for this year.  Awful hard to row across sand bars.

I must be confused.  I drove by this building again yesterday afternoon and didn't see any work going on. Kitchen Korner had some sort of sale banner that indicated they were closing.   ???

What's exactly wrong with the gates? I've heard them say they were going to fix them or did fix them for several years now.

I thought the water was low because of upstream drought.

I heard about a gasket malfunction a few years ago, but I think it was resolved.

Here is the agenda from the May Riverparks Authority Meeting: http://www.riverparks.org/user/documents/AGENDA_0512.pdf

Background Information: Bill Smith, P.E., will give a status report on repairs to Zink Dam's hydraulic system.
Approval will be requested for construction engineering services for the gate cylinders and hydraulic system
repairs.

Freese Architecture is the designer.  Therefore, it will probably end up being quite modern...

And yes, parking is not on the frontage of the building.
