People also ignore the fact from back in the 1970's when everyone was going nuts over "Global Cooling" and a coming ice age. "Time" & "Newsweek" mags did cover stories on the cooling planet. The "experts" back then were saying that by the year 2000 New York's harbour would be frozen over. Many of the same "experts" from the 1970's changed over to global warming in the early 1990's because that is where the gov't money & funding was coming from. The "experts" who did not believe in global warming lost funding & grants. In October, 1978 Lennard Nemoy hosted a TV show about the coming ice age and they mentioned that polar lakes  for the first time in known history  have been staying frozen all year long. (I guess today all those lakes have melted away from the global warming) It was a half hour show and I have it recorded on audio tape,  (I think the shows title was "The coming ice age"). Anyhow, IMO It's all a hoax. the environment is a great tool for a gov't to use to gain more control over the people. Many of our laws and regulations are related to the environment, after all who could be in favor of pollution? There is a saying that goes something like "Going green is a great way to become red" or words to that effect.

Kinda on topic since global warming is being tossed about. The title alone of this piece on Algore's fertility idea is hilarious (and this money quote).

Whatever the answer, he clearly means someone other than the Gore family since he and Tipper almost doubled the ol' replacement rate. But then, for the Goracle, saving the planet has always been mostly a "you first" proposition. At least he's consistent.
