The other downtown grocery, Archer Market, has said they're aiming for a September opening the last announcement I saw.

But then again their facebook feed (no posts in a month) doesn't inspire confidence. "getting close" was their post in January, and a previous opening date of June was stated not that long ago. Peeking in  the window, it doesn't look all that close to being ready to open, but then again I'm no expert on the subject.

Blake or anybody got any updates on that?

Also, Mr. Ewing, please don't start cutting back hours within the first six weeks of opening, as seems to be the norm with downtown businesses.

In other news, Green Acres Market opened in Jenks this morning.  We rode past on our bikes yesterday.

Very disappointing in how that building turned out.  Was hoping for a much more "urban" look.

It does look like a Walgreens in that pic.

Nah.  Needs more parking to be truly suburban.   :D

All the renderings showed brick...  I think the development got a downgrade with the economic downturn.

Update.

Archer Market is still planned for opening, though it's taking longer than we anticipated...mostly thanks to the fact that we're doing two projects at the same time (The Phoenix may beat Archer Market to getting open) and that we've had some unforeseen obstacles. The Snyder family is doing the build-out, so I'm not as certain about the exact opening date. I'll check with John and post more info when I have a better idea of a finish date from them. I've not been in some crazy hurry, as you can tell. I figured I just sit back and wait until it was built and work on other things in the meantime. Anyway, we're just waiting for that to finish so that we can move in, do a little decorating and get open. We've got staff hired and are essentially ready to go.

The space has been plumbed and tiled and had a vent hood put in. I've not really paid attention to what it looks like from outside, but on the inside, it's much different. We're hoping to open by the end of the summer. You should see some signage on the outside pretty soon. Maybe that will help folks to feel like we're making progress.

I certainly appreciate all of your concern. I'm sorry for not updating you more frequently. Also, I'll go update the facebook site.

As for our hours, we're planning to be open from 7 to late night. We'll serve breakfast and lunch on the hot and cold food lines every day. We'll have a full cereal bar, espresso and smoothie bar in the mezzanine loft, a full deli and of course the grocery market. Should be good. Be patient, friends. Good things take time. =)

There is a new sign on this building with an architectural rendering and a Labruzco's To Go sign.  Is a new project on for that building?  If I'm that way for lunch this week I'll try and take a picture of the sign unless someone has a link.  I googled and couldn't find anything.

TW on top of the story with an FB post:

QuoteNancy Bruce, owner of Lambrusco'Z To Go in Brookside, confirmed Wednesday she plans to open a location in downtown Tulsa.

Saw the banner/sign today...   Odd location on the building..    Are they subdividing the building and Lambrusco'Z is going in the back?
Is the side of the building becoming the front?   Or is the back now the front (ala Back Alley Blues)?

The front of the building has an equally sized "for Lease" banner.

They want three businesses in that space.

The front door will not face south onto the parking lot.  I hope they still have at least a glass front facing the street.

When I see 'sandwich shop' and downtown I fear another 11-2 restaurant. any word whether it will have reasonable hours? the other location is open six 'full' days a week. hope this new one is, too. But nearly every downtown location of existing restaurants is open less hours than the non downtown location.
