It's pretty easy to discern the Guantanamoe schmoes at TNF by reading this thread.... :(

I survived 3 summers in New Orleans with no AC in the late 90s.  Sorry to inconvience the lawbreakers with a little hot weather.  Maybe they should of thought of that before they committed their crime.  Having ac is not a necessary part of life, it is a luxury.  One of my uncles spent some time in an Alabama prison camp and they never had AC. He didn't die because of it, he died of old age.

AC may have been a luxury 50 years ago, but if we were to have a major infrastructure failure right about now we would see some alarming death figures.

Apparently you know a lot of people who are too stupid to stay in the shade and drink lots of liquids.

Do some research on Maricopa County Jail Tent City. You can BPM (b1tcH, P1$$ and moan about it all you want) you can call it inhumane, cruel and unjust, but they have a very low recietivism rate. And on the hottest day at 119 degrees they gave the inmates 4 bags of ice to use, and you know what? Not a single, one used that 10lb bag as a weapon. Joe seems to run a pretty good jail despite his contractors.

We need more Sheriff's like Sheriff Joe.  Watched a documentary on him awhile back.  Pretty interesting guy.  He reads them bedtime stories on closed circuit TV while wearing a red smokers jacket by a fireplace.  The inmates painted murals on the interior walls of the animal shelter.  The dogs meals per day cost more than the inmates.  And they wear pink jumpsuits with pink slip on shoes.  I have no problem with it. Again, jail is supposed to be a punishment and a hardship, not free housing with 3 hot meals a day, recess and happy hr.

If you are properly prepared for the heat it's no big deal.  I have no choice but to be out in the heat to train for my "A" race coming up in Colorado in three weeks.   I spend easily 20 hours a week training in the heat.  As long as you are hydrated and keeping your electrolytes up, it's not a big deal.  One trick cyclists like to use for 'lytes is pickle juice.  I look like a big salt lick when I get done with long training rides, but I don't cramp and don't wind up with heart rhythm issues.

You don't need to be an athlete to survive in the heat, so long as inmates have plenty of hydration and access to salt, I don't see a problem.

I just am waiting for the day they decide public housing turns off the AC.    That will be the day lots of people suddenly decide that maybe getting a job isn't such a bad idea.

. . . or they could just take the cable TV away.

I was thinking of elderly, and "stupid" would not have been the term I would have used to describe their situation.

Not as easy as discerning a complete and utter fool such as your-self.....

I play the role of the fool.....choosing to remove myself from your violence.

But do tell me, would you prefer in winter they go without heat as well?

Must be rarer than we think.  Every ex-con claims it never happened to them.  8)

There are to many that are willing. No need to rape it just adds another charge.
And the myth about sex offenders and molesters getting beat up is just that. They are protected at minimum yards to keep that from happening. Everybody there is one step away from getting out. They are not about to chance that. Sad huh ?
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

I suspect the prevalent anal rape is a pretty good motivation to stay out of jail. Somehow I doubt that many criminals think they're going to get caught..

Given past posts, this makes me wonder why Breadhead hasn't gotten himself sent to prison yet?
