So when are we gonna get a little bit of brains and get out of that place?

There's $125 billion per year instant savings.  Let's take it.  Now.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Who are our soldiers fighting and dying for?

Did we spend trillions of dollars for lies? Help me out here. Did this add to our deficits? What administration committed our future to this? What was the make up of congress during those decisions?

I thought that was one of the big reasons Obama got elected, to get us out of the Bush wars.  Obama had two years that the Republicans couldn't have stopped him.

And have you been watching??  We are down to around 45,000 in Iraq.  (Should be 0!!)  From over 130,000.  In two and half years.

And drawing down in Afghanistan.  That's why only part (2200 out of 3000) of the 45th sent there a couple months ago went to Afghan and the rest went to Kuwait.  But not fast enough.

As for Teatown question... you know dam good and well why we are in Iraq.  It is because of the lies from Baby Bush.  It is for oil.  It is to save face from Daddy Bush's "embarrassment" - that little dust up in Kuwait (justified war, by the way, just not carried on long enough.)  And the reason Colin Powell (very honorable man - the most honorable to visit the White House during those 8 years) said serving for that regime was the most dishonorable thing he had ever done - BECAUSE of what he found out to be lies that they had him tell about the whole thing.

Yes, it did contribute to the deficit.  Trillions.  In particular the hundreds of billions that were spent "off budget" so people would have a tougher time figuring it out.

And the withdrawal continues.  Just not fast enough!

Yes.  I expected us to be totally out of both places by now, regardless of the consequences there.

I believe that controlling oil supplies is one of many reasons you and I don't speak Deutsch as our first language.

How did this turn into a pro Ron Paul thread?

Just lucky, I guess.  Want in?

I have a grandson over in that BS right now (and I felt the same way YEARS before he went there and gave me a vested interest in seeing it end).  It is way past time for him and all the rest of them to be back.  The justified part of the Afghanistan Adventure was over years ago.  There never was a valid justification for Iraq.
