Back to the Mexican food for a minute...if Compadre's doesn't impress, there used to be a little hole in the wall place on Memorial, about 44th street, east side of road in that little shopping center.  South of the car lots.  It was very authentic then, and very good.  I could tell, 'cause SWMBO didn't like it and she is a big Tex-Mex fan, so if she doesn't like Mexican, I know it is authentic.  I liked it a lot.

A Monterreys used to be in that area. I liked it too.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Re:  "The Walk at Tulsa Hills"... the development that's supposed to happen south of Tulsa Hills : http://www.thewalkintulsahills.com/

I bet it's hard to get financing when the cinema/anchor is bankrupt....

Monterrey's was ok for Tex-Mex.  That was a little south of this place, on west side of road in that big shopping center at 51st.  Haven't been by there in a long time - are they gone then??

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Monterey's is on the west side in Fontana, still there. On the east side was South Of the Border which moved to the spirit bankruptcypalooza at 103rd & Memorial.

Place is gone.   Look's like it's a Subway now from Google earth.  That may not be there now, either...

Yeah, I am talking about a little place that used to be on the east side - apparently gone now.  It was where Subway is, north of 46th street a couple blocks.

Anyone else notice the southern end of Tulsa Hills is starting to resemble an industrial park?

Buildings with no windows, no trees, automotive services.  Might as well start putting up high chain link fences with barbed wire on top to separate the businesses.

How about those new-ish apartments across 75 from Tulsa Hills? There's no access from there to the stores, is there?

It's developments like that that give suburbia a bad name. Right next to various places to shop, eat and drink, but I don't think anyone has ever walked it due to the extremely hostile built environment.

Uh... I think by definition, suburbia has poor walkability.   Heck, Tulsa Hills on it's own isn't very walkable  (ironic, it's not very drivable either).

Any leads on new development for a Jimmy John's to go? We have the market but are looking for a spot in the area.

Not sure which ones are yours, but kudos to the 71st Street location by Woodland Hills for actually being fast. For a restaurant that advertises speed, the Brookside and 21st/Yale locations are still a bit slow.

Not extremely slow, but when your ad campaign is 'subs so fast you'll freak,' you better move a little more quickly.

Brookside is a separate guy. The rest of the market from here on out will be owned by our group of guys. I run the one in Broken Arrow but am moving downtown this spring. Can't wait.

And the 71st store is ran by a guy that finshed 3rd in the national sandwich competition out of 1600 stores. You won't find a faster sandwich around than his line produces.

Did we really need a Hibdon, a Jiffy Lube, and now a Discount Tire all within a stones throw of one another?

Wasted space.
