With the success of all the businesses there already, the future looks bright for any current or future business in the Tulsa Hills.

Does any of you know what the status is on the "Walk in Tulsa Hills"? I would love shop there when they open up.

Look for work to start within 3-6 months.

Meh.  They're OK.

My only complaint is it can be hard to cross near Hiddon Tires near 81st. That end needs a cross walk or two and the side walks should... connect instead of ending randomly.
Thank you,

+1. Some people swear by Ted's, so I had to try it a couple of times. Perhaps I've spent too much time in El Paso, but I went to the Ted's in Norman and found it overpriced and unimpressive. There are some good, authentic Mexican places here in Tulsa, but it will be no surprise that the best aren't the chains. Find the places the Mexicans patronize and venture beyond Tex-Mex. They are out there, mostly but not solely in East Tulsa. For my taste, Ted's is the Rib Crib of Tex-Mex food. Edible, but boring, or as Hoss says, "meh." Whether it is Mexican, BBQ, Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese, I want the real thing with authentic ingredients. Even the odd ingredients. I don't think I will bother with Ted's any more than I have bothered with Cracker Barrel.

I am glad that Tulsa Hills is there and have spent a fair amount of money there, but chain restaurants are chain restaurants and have to be accepted as such.

Co worker of mine LOVED Ted's.  It was a mood thing for me.  Their salsa was kinda weird tasting.  However, they had pretty good tortilla soup and their chips were always fresh.  I never asked if they made them in house or not.  Used to go about once a month until about January of 2011.  Haven't been back since.

Used to be a fan. But since they expanded from the original in OKC, it hasn't been the same and the prices skyrocketed. When it was just the one, it was kind of like an experience going. It was like a bee hive of activity. You never had to wait for anything (once you were seated anyways).

They are the Rib Crib of Mexican. It is always consistent, never great. Which is something to say too.

See dirt work started across from Sams Club.... whats going in there?   Is that the Ted's location?

Ted's - for the money - blech.  Compadre's has them beat by far.  Except for the chips, Taco Bueno has them beat for the price difference....

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Back to the Mexican food for a minute...if Compadre's doesn't impress, there used to be a little hole in the wall place on Memorial, about 44th street, east side of road in that little shopping center.  South of the car lots.  It was very authentic then, and very good.  I could tell, 'cause SWMBO didn't like it and she is a big Tex-Mex fan, so if she doesn't like Mexican, I know it is authentic.  I liked it a lot.

And OKC has several that are very real.  One I have been to a couple of times is in a little mercado on 29th street, about Western avenue.  El Michoacana.  You must have some minimal Spanish speaking skills or go with someone who does.  And the neighborhood is kind of dicey - when I stay in OKC, I can occasionally hear gunfire from that direction (west if where I usually stay) as well as east - Valley Brook area - 'nuff said....

The food is exceptional and absolutely real - no Tex-Mex allowed.  And very reasonably priced.

Don't know what the name means, but I am pretty sure it isn't a chain, but I have seen that name on places in other states, too, so it must be pretty common and/or generic.

Their verde chili sauce is as good as El Barrio in Phoenix airport.
