I was curious how they'd deal with the whole "works in mysterious ways" thing.

Sanctioning a beating to death seems the wrong way for their supreme being to go.

Maybe they were taking a page from Festivus and were putting on a "feats of strength".
Trust but verify

Ritual sacrifice.

...had to come back and edit...just read that after posting and it doesn't come even close to conveying the scorn I feel for this event.  Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I'm talking "And he smote him thus" kind of stuff.  Believe that's in the Jewish part of the Bible.

Yeah, that was when He was always super pissed off.  Pillars of salt and tons of smoting.

Smiting is the plural I think, but thank you for a good coffee-spewing laugh.

Damn.  I've threatened groups of people with my wrath in the singular all this time.

If your groups qualified as a collective noun, you may still be OK.
(I think collective noun is the proper term.)

Yes.  Since the local news grabbed the story and people still think about it the OK legislature is looking into the fight sanctioning thing.  As soon as the local news gloms onto something else the legislature will drop it.
