There will always be watch parties so you can't miss out on that part of HH.

To give the hipsters something in common to talk about.

QuoteEdward Delk's, 427 South Boston, in the Philtower Building, will be opening very soon! The casual dining bar and restaurant has preserved many of the historical elements of the location as well as including new decor unique to the Philtower Building.

Went by today and the doors were open, I don't think the business was open but you could poke your nose in and look around.  Interesting place.  I hope it does well.

stuck my head in "today" (Tues).
very cool spot.

Was the Java Dave's layout like this?  I don't recall the high ceiling / catwalk.

Lot of investment for three or four customers at night during the week....

Once again, too many dollars chasing too few people. Downtowners feeding on each other. We'll see...but these peeps can afford to lose money so it's a win win situation. ;)

I'd never let my kids get into a failing bar/sandwhich joint for their first job. I'd make them get a real job. Maybe, they're not capable. Were they boy scouts? That's who owned the Phil before it was ripped off from them....

This is right next door to the new hotel so it should do a decent business, and not need to rely on "tulsans" (but I suspect that it will be a hipster hangout). I know for a fact that Elote gets lots of foot traffic from the hotel.

While working on our little museum spot in the evenings, Mod's in the Philcade next door gets way more traffic than that.  Heck, even us being way to the back of the lobby, not doing any real advertising, and not even having the place done, and sometimes having the closed sign still up lol, have gotten anywhere from 40 to over 100 people coming in each evening we are there.  I know because I have been keeping track of how many people come through our doors.  And yes, just the other night at Elote's had to wait a bit for an empty table and decided to sit at the bar. That area gets more traffic even on a cold winter night than you might suspect.

Does the hotel have its own bar?  I know they have an area on the second floor, but the three or four times I was up there I never saw it staffed.

I love Blue Dome & Brady because of their "urban warehouse" feel but I would love to see this area develop in a great way.  It has a much more cosmopolitan feel than other downtown districts.  I would LOVE for an upscale restaurant to take over the top floor of First Place Tower.  It was rumored for a long time Ruth's Chris would go in up there, but I haven't heard anything on that in a while.  I also heard rumors some time ago of In the Raw opening in this area and using the Petroleum Club space (when they were moving to First Place) as banquet space.

I was down there last night.....ghost town. Of course, it was a Tuesday so let's give them the benefit of the doubt. At least those Arkansas hillbilly's filled up some of their own empty space....

I just LOVE your posts..... :D

I'm a little confused about your avatar, in your mind is the "middle" finger supposed to come before or after the "peace" fingers.
