I tried Steak Stuffers once right after I moved back to Tulsa.  I got a thick bun with a few crumbles of what I think was beef.  Could barely taste it.  Mostly bread and a few drips of cheese sauce.  I am not exaggering by much either.  Paid a decent price for it too.  I obviously have not been back.  I was hoping for a meaty, cheesy sandwich.  That is far from what I got.  Maybe it was a one time bad experience, but it has kept me away ever since.  I intend to try Phat Phillys soon.  I heard good things when it was downtown but never made it.

Being a steak stuffers fan  (phat phillys not being around and all)  I have never seen or heard anyone complain about not getting enough food.   Sorry for your experience, but know that it was most definately the exception rather than the rule....

I'm wondering if he got Steak Stuffers confused with some other place.  I've never heard of anyone leaving there thinking they didn't get enough to eat.

I was there over Christmas break with my son. Very busy. Still good and larropin' to me. I did find the bread was not as good as I remembered it but the size was fine. I also like Phat Philly's and am glad to see it is nearby. Their sandwiches were larger. Neither place is cheaply priced.

Mushroom, cheese and peppers. Dessert was fried pineapple slices.

I live two miles from there. tried it twice. crappy both times.

It's like overcooked & dry steakums on a chewy bun. Saying they make a good cheesesteak is like saying the Big Mac is a good steak.

Phat Philly's is open, is good. I picked up some phillies around 7:15 and it was rather busy.

Apparently people prefer shiny and new to cramped and run down.

I guess "you" can't win them all.

When it comes to late night post-bar eats there are four worthwhile options phillies, dog house, Joe mamma's, and tacos Don.  They are all good.  I'm glad to have phat phillies back.  We are a very lucky city.

Are they planning on doing any signage? Or are the cheez-whiz-colored awnings sufficient to get the point across?

So far people seem to be finding the place without much difficulty if the crowds are any indication.

So when does everyone want to do a TNF lunch there?

Tuesday the 7th at 11:30?  I'm actually good all week next week so if Tuesday is a no go, I'm in with whatever.

I have been twice already.   They had steady lines both times.

This is just the latest in a number of rehab development along Peoria north of Cherry St to 11th.  I like the mix of businesses that have opened in what was just a year or two ago vacant, delapitated buildings (CrossFit 918, Eats2U, Phat Phillys, This Land).  It's great for the established Tracy Park neighborhood to the west and the gentrifying Forest Orchard to the east.
