Right or wrong?

People who have it don't care.

It doesn't matter if you are a complete screw up and cannot do anything, as long as you think highly of yourself nothing else matters and the world owes you.

At least I think that's what the theory is.

That's a pretty twisted view of it. The point is that if you have no confidence in yourself, you are almost certain to fail leading to a downward spiral of self-loathing that's very difficult to get out of.

Also, the world owes none of us anything. We owe each other respect and common decency.

Your choice to misunderstand the common theme that brings the various factions within the OWS movement together is your own loss. It's also not surprising. You are one of the people who benefits from the system being rigged in the way it is. That's great for you. Too bad it doesn't work the half of our countrymen who have been deemed too poor to pay income tax. You think the solution is to raise taxes on those with little income. I think the solution is to remove the poison from our political system that has both allowed and encouraged dysfunction in both itself and our economic system, thereby increasing the income of those who do not presently pay income tax.

P.S. When I say rigged, I mean that informally. There isn't some grand conspiracy that I can identify, just a system of perverse incentives that arose by incremental changes to rules and regulations for the benefit of thousands upon thousands of different constituencies that have the same effect.

Having too much confidence in yourself without any skill set to back it up can lead to failures which could be just as devasting.

Most kids seem to make it out of childhood and their early 20s despite their inability to recognize their limitations. ;)

I do understand your point, though, and largely agree.

Paying too much attention to your limitations can also be bad and not allow you to grow.  A lot of things have been developed because someone didn't realize they couldn't do it.
