Just heard that a new deli is coming to downtown

Supposedly in the Community Care Building. I know there used to be a buffet type place in there years ago but think it has been empty since then. Not a lot of details on the new place, just that the name is Imagine That Deli and that they will serve breakfast and lunch.

Now, is a real deli or something short of that? My guess is that it is a deli in name only and not like something you would find in NYC or elsewhere that have real delis. To me a deli isn't a deli unless they slice the meat after you order and make their own corned beef and pastrami.

The name deli is being misused and defamed by many in this city.

The sandwiches from the worst corner bodega in NYC blow away most of our delis.

I don't know the details, but there has definitely been someone serving lunch in the CommunityCare building for at least a few months now. I've seen their sign on the sidewalk advertising their lunch specials.

Tulsa deli = any small establishment selling primarily sandwiches, chips, & m&ms

And mainly only open for lunch. No one eats sandwiches after 2pm.

If you ask me, Lambrusco'z is Tulsa's best deli.  ;D

I agree. But it still pales in comparison to even an average deli in the northeast.

Our delis also seem to have a strange knack for wasteful packaging. Instead of just regular wax paper, I'm always getting sandwiches for takeout in massive plastic containers (topeca), plastic, styrofoam, etc. It's a sandwich. All it requires is paper.

I can't confirm anything but with those hours & location it will be a sandwich shop not a real deli. Who knows that might have some good sammies though. Though unless they use good bread it doesn't matter.
Thank you,
