I'm needing to write a paper on a piece of art from before the 1400's.  It has to be from Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Gothic, Indian (Eastern, not american), or Chinese persuasion. And I have to view the actual piece. I have been to Gilcrease and Philbrook, but what is available through them is limited and would like to find something beyond those.  Figured if anyone knew of any hidden gems in this city, it would be someone on here.

Well, I know if you go to the DMA they have an ancient section of the museum.

Dallas museum of art.
Ah, road trip in a rickety car not an option.  Otherwise I would take a drive up to Kansas City.

And all this time I thought that was your Bugatti. ;)

Not road tripable, because that would put extra wear and tear on it, don't ya know?

You would think, but that doesn't take into account drivers and roads in this area.  Did I ever mention I have a rich man's tastes on a poor mans salary?

AAA has a free (with subscription) towing policy but it has a 50 mile limit as I remember.

Check out the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish art, they will likely have something from that time period.

I think someone mentioned that at some point, some where.  I will check it out to see what they have, and if anything is there that jumps out at me.
