Just watched the President's presser right now.  He's going to push dividend and capital gains taxes to encourage businesses to grow jobs in the US.

Awesome!  Great job Mr. President.  Wish you had embraced this a few years ago!

But wait?  Arn't these tax cuts for the wealthy?  What?

He's still speaking. More examples that even when he does something you agree with you can't stand him.

He most likely had to change his panties again.

Nope!  I'm happy with this decision and 100% in support of his effort.  Lets get it done!  Bravo Mr. President.

Hopefully this was not just words.  Now the challenge will be to see if he can get it passed Harry Reid.

I'm not quite sure how the effect is purported to follow the cause here.
"Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration" --Abraham Lincoln

How did you miss the fact that it was embraced over a decade ago and has shown that it is not relevant in encouraging businesses to grow jobs??  Like Rumplestiltskin - missed the entire 2000's...

But has contributed greatly to the increase of the national debt.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

On the contrary, helped by the capital gains tax cuts, business grew millions of jobs. The only problem was that most of them were in Asia.

Ooops!  Sorry - I missed that one by a mile!  You are absolutely right, of course.

Here is a pic of the room where Obama spoke on this issue today. Standing room only for CEOs.  :D

QuoteDozens of journalists packed into the East Room at the White House today for the president's remarks on "in-sourcing," at least 60 of them lining the press risers and walls.

But what many couldn't see in press coverage of the event — held with roughly 120 executives to discuss bringing jobs back to America from overseas — were the dozens of empty seats in the audience.

At one point during Obama's speech, Vice President Joe Biden strolled to the empty section and sat in a row by himself, listening.

A White House spokeswoman, asked about the 49 empty chairs, said some invitees didn't show up.

"Like with many of these events here at the White House, we invited representatives from outside groups, businesses and community leaders involved in this issue to attend, and unfortunately some folks invited were not able to attend at the last minute," spokeswoman Amy Brundage said.

Seems telling that the missing CEO's think trying to insource is a time waster.

Or that the missing CEOs maybe, just maybe, don't like Obama's hostility towards them.

Yep, there's some seriously business-friendly hostility evident in these new tax rules.  Just awful how treats those businessfolk, isn't it?

Or, realistically, they feel it's much cheaper to outsource to the subcontinent or SE Asia.  Why would they waste good golf time on election "We can do this" stuff?
