If you really believe that, then you really haven't been paying close enough attention.

But party with the Tea Baggers??  Mmmm....maybe not.

Oh yeah, that's right you are afraid of all the drugs, rape, public masturbation, defecation, urination, theft, intimidation, fights, stabbings, etc. that are so prevalent at the Tea Party rallies.

You have to remember that Heiron has a different perception of what's acceptable than most of the rest of us.

Qui, moi??
No, not me.

Yes,  you.

OK, "exaggeration" rather than "license" but the concept is the same.  Lie to make a point.

Tea Party Rallies? You've just described a regular day in a school system.

You mean 'Glenn Beck'.
or 'Rush Limbaugh'
or 'Michael Savage'...

I was talking to/about our own Heiron.  Whether or not those you mention do or not is irrelevant to whether or not Heiron does.  (Use Literary exaggeration,by his own admission, and lie to make a point.)

Or again, Congress.

This entire thread has been full of people making stupid generalizations. If a pissing match is desired, let this end it: What the crazypants Tea Partyists lack in ubiquity they more than make up for with spectacle. One  of 'em flew a plane into a building because he didn't want to pay his taxes for crying out loud. The Tea Partyists had a couple of good points that needed to be aired, and so do the OWS folks. Complaining about the hangers on is missing the forest for the trees. In both cases, a large group of people are trying to tell us something is desperately wrong in Washington, beyond what has been usual over the past century. Too bad most of us are too busy bitching and moaning about the stupid things some stupid people who identify with the causes are doing. That's exactly what the people who are screwing us want.

So yeah, keep giving it to them.

Except he didn't identify with the Tea Party.  Based on his twisted manifesto, he was an anarchist who blamed the IRS for all his troubles.  He had very scathing words for President Bush, IIRC.  He was an equal-opportunity hater.  He hated Democrats and Republicans.  He was simply a disaffected nut-job who didn't identify with anyone but blamed everyone for his own failures.

No, not lie.  I leave that to the professional "entertainers" at Rupert's House.  As stated in reply to dbacks when he asked if I worked for "Faux News".  And I replied, "I certainly could - but that would mean making the gigantic leap from literary license to full blown (and I do mean blown!) lying.  Just not my style."

And literary license is used to contrast and compare in actually what is a fairly reactionary way, the extreme nonsense spouted by the House of Rupert.  And due to the extreme nature of the spewings from that source, it means an extreme response is dictated.  But extreme responses are not the same as lies, distortion, and deceit - which IS the stock-in-trade of H of R.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I believe you have crossed that line on occasion.

Absolutely not intentionally.  Maybe said things that were wrong through lack of knowledge, or making a point of satire/irony/sarcasm.  Not outright lie with intent to deceive and benefit from it like Gingrich, Rupert, and the gang.

Okay. Truth: "The Day After Tomorrow" was a fictional drama created by Hollywood. Exaggeration, "The Day After Tomorrow" was touted by scientific experts as a possible scenario as to something that may have happened but there is no proof of concept.

Truth: Wooly Mamoths have been found in an upright position trapped in multiple layers of earth and ice and appear to have asphyxiated.
Exaggeration: These mamoths must have been frozen in mid stride, and mid chew while eating during an instant freeze of the earth because nothing else would cause this condition.

Exaggerate: see Faux News, MSNBC, CNN, Nancy Grace, Glenn Beck(why does he need two N's in his first name), Rush, Hannity, Madcow, Matthews, Dobbs, the nasaly one from AirAmerica Randy Rhodes, Al Sharpton, Al Franken, Bill Mahr. I will give Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert credit because they are humorists.

They all cater to the 'Mouth Breathers' that they all gasp, and cover their mouthes to whatever shpiel they spew. So are you buying into Goldline? Thats the hedge against the American economy. How much did you spend give to the fatalist?
