If you happen to have Cox for internet access, you could try hooking the cable wire up to your tv. As of a few years ago, the local channels (including the HD versions of them) were unencrypted.

I got a small  UHF antenna (marked for outdoor use) that I put inside in my window. It works well for everything except channel 8 (which is VHF). But I'm up a few floors and my window faces toward Coweta. YMMV.

Thank you! When I went to look at the cable there was a splitter attached. I guess Cox left it after I cancelled cable. And I found an old cable and hooked it up the splitter and my TV and it worked!!! It's been a few years since I cancelled cable and was left with no channels so I'm really happy now.  ;D ;D

Once upon a time you could get you're home raided for stealing cable.
