So what you're  saying is that you're hosting the first ever TN forum breakfast at your house so we can grade yours, right?

She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed would mount my head on a stick in the front yard.  However, my friend Wade and I will be solving the world's problems from a booth over at the Owasso IHOP starting at about 7:15.

+1 Blue Dome diner  - also Ed's home made recipe looks about spot on to me (just be sure to use real vanilla)

I grew up with these, plus a touch of vanilla.  Add some scrambled eggs with onions (and maybe some green peppers) and some bacon on the side. Yum.  Oh yeah, real maple syrup and butter on the pancakes.  Molasses  on top of pancakes was good too.

Real maple syrup is an occasional treat for us because it's so expensive.  But I have to admit a fondness for Griffin's pecan flavored syrup, and their new iced cinnamon roll syrup.  I like using local products if I can find them, rather than the big national chains.

My late mother-in-law used to send me a couple of jars of Seaway mustard at Christmastime.  If I remember right, it's a store brand for a grocery in PA and it's not an expensive 'gourmet' mustard.  But it was very good, with just a touch of horseradish to give it some zing.

I've thought about getting together some Oklahoma-made comestibles to send as care packages to friends and relatives back east.

Yep.  Same here.  We mostly used Log Cabin brand which as I remember had at least some real maple syrup in it as compared to people who put Karo on their pancakes.

I don't remember it. Maybe it was more regional to western PA.

I don't know the formula from the 50s and 60s but I thought it had some actual maple syrup in it.  Maybe I was fooled.  We used the "Original" when it was the only one available.

I'd have to pick Waffle House for the best pancakes and waffles. I hear that IHOP is good but we never went there so I can't comment on that place. As for the  syrup debate, Log Cabin may of used real syrup at one time but I don't think they still do anymore since it'll be too expensive I could be wrong on that, My wife liked the syrup in the bottle that was shaped like a woman, the name of that company escapes me maybe it's Mrs. ButtersWorth or something like that. I'm not much of a pancake or waffle eatter, or syrup user.

Waffle House.  They have bright yellow butter too!
Yep, that's the only place I know. 11th & highway 169.. The foods not bad, the girls working there are frendly and fast. They add the tip to the bill. I don't know if Tulsa has any IHOP places.

My guess is that what it says is not particularly favorable.

IHOP's pancakes are OK.  I'm not impressed with their waffles.  I don't think they're made fresh.  They're frozen and reheated.  But their crepes are very good.  I like the fruit and yogurt version, as well as the nutella crepes.  The only bad thing about crepes is that it takes a ton of butter to make them.  That's why they're so good!

Thanks for all the replies! Went to Blue Dome diner for breakfast this morning and wasn't really impressed with their pancakes. They were overly greasy and tasted like meat. Next stop is Corner Cafe in 2 weeks.

Sorry you had a bad batch, the last Blue Dome pancake I had was on of the best I've ever had, and it was thirsty for syrup.

Queenies has good specialty pancakes (like Buckwheat or Oatmeal).

I never think of Queenie's and they never advertise, yet that place does great business day after day.
