The high for the Dow was during a time when George Bush was president. The week of October 1st, 2007 it got to 14,093. During his last 15 months in office it began to plummet closing at 8,077 the week he left office.

The day in 2001 when Bush became president it was at 10,587. That meant a 2,500 point drop during the eight Bush years.

The Dow continued to drop the first seven weeks of the Obama presidency to bottom out at 6,626, but has since up.
Today it is around 13,000. That is almost a 5,000 point climb in the three years of Obama. It has almost doubled from the low just 33 months ago.

I know that gaspar will give credit to republicans for the increase in value and guido would say that the Dow average doesn't matter to most Americans, but it does for me. I have been trying to put back some money for retirement and am counting on this money.

I know that jobs and trade imbalance are more important factors than the Dow average in the economy, but this counts too.

I give credit to the investors who invest in the stock market, personally.

Thanks...That showed inflation was 21.2% during Bush and inflation has been 5.6% during Obama.

In other words it also means middle class pay is being brutalized by Obama.  He eats babies and kittens too!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Kittens & chutney.  Must put that on my to-do list.

Well damn it.  I just realized we already had the cats spayed and neutered.  There's always Craigslist.

Sounds like a good band name!

Dow shot up 220 points today and the NASDAQ closed the highest it has been since Clinton was President.

Go ahead and attack Obama and make up more stuff. I believe you are unable to see progress and clearly won't give him any credit.
