As many of you know I am going back to school trying to do something with my life.  I have been an officer in Phi Theta Kappa (international honors society for two-year colleges) for the last year.  This weekend I have been in Edmond campaigning for Regional President of Oklahoma/Arkansas, and last night I managed to pull it off with a landslide.  I'm wanting to shout it to the world, but since I haven't built that moon size microphone yet, I figured I would come here.

Congratulations!  I too returned to school in my thirties, and discovered that those of us with some "real life" experience were the most motivated students.

If it's not prying, what are you studying?

May you live in interesting times.

I'm working on my Liberal Arts degree.  I plan on transferring to TU and getting my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and then I'll be going out of state for my graduates.

How do you get a Liberal Arts major off of your porch?

Pay him for the pizza.

  Congrats! and well done!

And hey, I am a Liberal Arts Major.  Was very close to getting my BA in Sociology, then Pshychology, then History, then, well started making it as an artist.  Go figure life.  Now am working on the Tulsa Art Deco Museum and am learning sooooo much.  Everything from "collections management systems" and learning new words like concatenation, to how to throw a large fundraiser party, to how to get things appraised without conflict of interest etc.

Keep on a truckin!

Got a good laugh out of that.  The only reason I'm doing Liberal Arts is because there isn't a Cultural Anthropology major at TCC, and this way I can pick and choose classes that will transfer to a four year with and Anthropology department.

Smart move. And showing leadership doesn't hurt either. Why out of state?

I think you really answered your own question. "Smart move. And showing leadership doesn't hurt either."

;D

Just kidding.

One of my cousins' husband got a degree in some form of Anthropology.  He spent some time at a dig in Belize.  He emailed excerpts from his log book.  It actually sounded pretty interesting.

I hope some day you get/make the chance to complete your degree.  Not because it will make difference in your career but just for the satisfaction of doing it.

Out of state because the Anthropology programs here are extremely limiting.  In fact, the only ones I have found so far in state are TU, up to a BA, and OU, up to a PHD.  I'm not a big fan of OU, and I don't think they will have a program that focuses on the area I'm wanting to go into.  Besides, I love the Northeast and am hoping for the excuse to spend more time up there.

Congratulations Mr. President.

Does this mean we have to give you gifts on President's Day?
