I didn't know it was anything special.  ;)

Vision 2025

I wondered if they relocated or had just disappeared from Bixby.  They were worth the drive when in Bixby... recon to follow later this week.

Black bottom pie was way over-rated, IMO.

isn't it just a chocolate cream pie?

DolfanBob

I never ate the black bottom pie but my parents did. My Dad moonlighted there from TPD as security. It was a big treat for us to pile into the station wagon and go see him and have me some huge onion rings and a shake.

Wasn't even that good, more like a chocolate pudding which was a little bitter.

Lots of food from "back in the day" was over-rated and people raved about it because they never got to have it at home...now..just like Nelson's its WAY over-rated and .."black bottom pie" is made and put to shame by real chef's in real restaurants...food can only live on its legend for so long, it actually has to be "good" at some point and stand up to 2012 food.

Blasphemy!!

It was good for its time and considering it was a drive in. But the real treat at 'Tons was the huge jumbo shrimp platter with fries, THEN the black bottom pie. Later cruise through Webers and slog down a freezie.
onward...through the fog
