Anyone here run the "Hunger  5K Race" on Saturday? I just finished it and pulled in a time of 26:16 I won 3rd place for my age group. It's a great racing event and the money goes to help feed people. I ran the race last year, this year the race was bigger with more people. I may also be on Fox 23 News, they were over there filming it and I was in the front line. My goal was to crack 25:00, but I did my best, I didn't have all the time I needed to train. After the race they had some great snacks for the runners, fruit, cookies and bananas. They closed off RiverSide Drive for the race. last year they ran the race on the RiverSide  jogging Trail, but I guess there were too many people this year, so the race was held on the street.

I'm a member of athlinks and they post the race results of all the races I run into my account, they even break it down to your pace per mile, pace per KM and your average speed things like that. That's a great web site for runners.

If you don't have one, get a Garmin GPS watch.  I have a Forerunner 210.  The free down load software does all the stuff you mention and more.  Plus, you can use it anytime you want.  I am not a runner but I usually walk about 2.3 miles at lunch unless the weather is too brutal.

You beat your time from last year if I recall correctly.

Consistent in running the same 5k every year and using the same name to run under!

My time last year was pretty grim. I also found out that last years event had 300+ runners- that was more than this year. Anyhow,  it was a fun event everyone had a good time, afters we had snacks of fresh fruit, cookies and things like that. My goal is to crack the 25:00 mark in a 5K. Then I'll go on to do a 10K or half marathon  and see what my time is in that. I need to do more training & speed work. There were some very impressive running times, one top dog runner was right behind the red pace car the whole way he must of been the one who pulled in a time of 16: (something) in the event.

If I had known the Hunger 5K had snacks, maybe I would have run with you.
