That's disappointing, it's a nice destination to ride to on Saturdays and the food was pretty good.  Curious if the Nelson's Ranch House is in operation right now or not.  Seems like it was closed then it was open.  I realize it's not in the CBD, but fairly close, and I'd think fairly reasonable- that is assuming the Nelson's aren't using it at the moment.

TW story mentions Whittier Square area.

QuotePrewitt said he has been checking out possible locations in the Whittier Square area, as well as other parts of Tulsa, "but there is nothing so far that is instantly ready to move in, and I don't have the capital to build out."

Yes it is open. I drove by 3rd and Utica last Friday morning and he had a lady with a sign waving at drivers.

What was she wearing?

At first I thought she was a panhandler but she seemed to know everyone driving by so I figured she was pimping for a politician or selling something illegal. Then I read the sign and remembered they had moved nearby. She was pimping for a restaurant I guess.

I don't remember her dress.

Never been there. Is this place one of those throwbacks that conjure memories or something?

Hole in the wall breakfast place, always busy. Friendly service, decent food (blueberry pancakes are ridiculous). Feels like Tulsa.

I do like the Blue Dome Diner's food, but overall it was pretty much a dump. A dump, but that guy sure could cook.

And the bathrooms! Scary. Gross. Gross and scary, that's what they are/were.

True. I don't think they'd been cleaned since DFest...

The complaint that they would need to sell $15 eggs is absurd.  Dilly Deli is not all that expensive.  You can get a full lunch for $7.50.  It sounds like the landlord has someone ready and willing to pay higher rent and invest in a buildout.  If that's true, than I guess its just business.  But I don't think it's truthful to say that to locate anywhere in downtown that you would need to charge excessive prices.  There are tons of reasonably priced restaurants downtown.  It sounds like they were just outbid.  One thing I always thought about Blue Dome diner was that it was way oversized with the back room.  It sounds like someone wants to use the entire space, including the backroom.  If it is more development downtown, I guess I'm for it, though its a shame that Blue Dome diner has to leave.  It wasn't the best breakfast in town, but it was pretty good and I enjoyed having breakfast and lunch there from time to time.

Oh and the bathrooms really were nasty.  A small renovation could have really made a huge difference.  Even some upkeep would be nice.

That place sticks with you.  The grease in your gut, the bathroom filth on your shoes and the smell on your clothes rest of the day.  All in all, one of my favorite breakfast places in town.  Sorry to see it go.

This is incorrect. I just checked their menu and there is only one lunch item (out of a few dozen) under $7.50, which obviously does not include a beverage, tax, and tip.
