I guess I mean't $7.95.  The half and half lunch special is a lot of food.  And even if your spending $10 for a full meal, it's not outrageous by any means unless you're comparing it to McDonald's dollar menu, in which case, I wouldn't expect those people to be eating downtown anyway.  And this is all in relation to the $15 eggs comment.  That statement is just super hyperbole at best.

I will miss the place. We had many a party in the back room. Every year our kid's schools would have trivia night or Jazz nights as fundraisers. I gave a five minute, fifteen slide powerpoint, precisely timed, speech there once on composting to a very drunk crowd.

Brian catered my 50th birthday party as well.

When he gets a place, I will support him. His food is good.

The complaint that they would need to sell $15 eggs is absurd.  Dilly Deli is not all that expensive.  You can get a full lunch for $7.50.

One of your statements was disproved, but I'll go ahead and point out that the owner of Dilly Deli owns the building. It's not a landlord situation. And you know why he owns the building? because it makes it cheaper to operate.

The buildings not going down. Yokazuma has a long term lease.

And you can't just take property, Heir.

What??  I cannot believe you said that...you have been in development here for what...38 years, I think you said??

That means you started right in the heyday of when urban renewal started taking down all the old buildings in downtown... you weren't involved in destroying the Orpheum or Rialto, were you??

Well, if you want all the good parts, with clean restrooms... go to Burke's Kenosha Cafe in Broken Arrow - Kenosha, east of Aspen (71st, east of 145th).  Best place short of going all the way to Coweta to the Green Parrot (on Main).  Actually, better food than Green Parrot, just not quite as good an ambience...

I'll try to make to either of those places after the post mortem of the apparent crap hole that is the subject of this thread  :o is done. Man, I was hoping to feel a little bad for this place going away.

i was really reluctant to mention Kenosha Cafe, 'cause it is good enough I kind of want to keep it small, so doesn't get ruined.  But the people are really good and the food is very good (better than that 11th and Yale place, IMO.)

Green Parrot is a place I love to go sit and just enjoy the atmosphere - they have knotty pine walls!  Food is intermittent, though.  Sometimes very good, sometimes - well, not as good...yeah, really not as good.  Overall, have been going there for a long time, and the good outweighs the bad, by probably 70:30.  Maybe 65:35.  But hey, you like a little excitement and uncertainly, don't you??

Hint; I never eat anything but breakfast there....

Apple Barrel Cafe in Bixby is mighty tasty for a homestyle breakfast.

BDD was a great destination for the day after a downtown sleepover (concert/bar crawls/hotel).  It will be missed.

No it's not. It's horrible. Go away, stay clear. In fact, I saw it just closed today.

Might be a bit difficult if it just closed today.  I took that to mean closed as in out of business rather than just not open today.  I've never been there.  Guess I won't go.

I don't go out to eat much anyway.  It cuts into my flying money and I need it all.

I do like Jay's Original Hoagies though.  His Italian Special Plus will be really good and as close to Delaware Valley / Philly area as can be done.

RA, I was joking. Trying to shoo off people from Bixby's hidden gem. And you are right, Jay's kicks aquaman.
