Here's a list of some of the larger new developments in South Tulsa area.

New American Bank building headquarters: looks like they have topped out this eight story building at 61st and Yale.

Saint Francis new expansion: much of the steel frame is up on the new Peds ER unit.

Tuscana at Yale: this project is almost complete. Keo and an Italian restuarant are supposed to take up residency there as well as some upscale shopping.

Whole Foods: construction company on site and moving dirt!

Kansas City smokehouse: putting up shop where Firerock grill?/Up the Creek (71st &memorial) was.

Maybe others but can't think of any at this time.

Peds ER? It's a level one trauma center with two helipads

Also, dirtwork has started on the SW corner of 91st and yale, and they have a lot of drainage work and a retaining wall to put in before anything else can start. This will be Whole Foods, etc. Drawing I saw looked like 5 decent-sized tenants. One on the corner and 4 in a strip center.

My bad on the Peds ER. Your right, it is going to be a level one trauma center.

Any idea on the other tenants on the Whole Foods site?

Is it going to be a Level 1 Trauma Center?  I can find nothing in the news articles or on St. Francis' website that says it will be Level 1.

Where?

To be level one it has to have ICU, CCU, PICU, Sergical, as well as a full Radio/Nuclear Medicine capability (MRI, CT, X-ray).  Basically, it has to be a full critical care hospital, unless they've changed the rules.  You also have to have Thoracic/Trauma surgens staffed 24 hours.

Very curious as to how they are going to do this, since we have a shortage of Trauma docs in St. Francis, John's, and Hillcrest.  Most of the guys I know are pulling moonlighting shifts between hospitals to fill the gaps, and usually at least one of the hospitals is on "divert" because they don't have enough staff to qualify for Trauma at any given time.

Lynn Sund, senior vice president and chief nurse executive, said the new emergency center will make St. Francis capable of having a Level I Trauma Center, the highest certification available. It is currently Level II. The only Level I facilities in the state are in Oklahoma City.

Ok, so it's part of SFH.  Makes sense. Still don't know where they are going to get the staff.

Looks like they're saying Level 1 "ready" and that they were "considering" applying for the accreditation. No word of it actually happening yet. Hope it does though.

The Italian restaurant at Tuscana is a chain new to Tulsa, but I can't recall the name.  Local franchisee.  KEO should be open soon.

Whole Foods center will have a liquor store.

Keep on eye on the land in front of Lifetime Fitness on S Memorial.  Several new to Tulsa chains.  Site plan and renderings look to be nicer than normal Tulsa suburbia.

Not a new build, but Fat Guys Burger Bar should be open any week now just north of 81st & Memorial.

Do you realize that you can drive a block North or west and buy anything for about 2/3 the price as Primo sells it for?
I doubt they are long for this world.
