Prairie Artisan Ales...

I've consumed some of their Standard Hoppy Farmhouse Ale.  It was pretty tasty.  The style is cloudy so don't be surprised when it pours that way.

I think the beer is presently brewed by Choc under contract.

Where are they located?

From what I understand right now, Choc is brewing for them until they get their location set up.  I have no idea where that is, admittedly.

EDIT:  I do however know that Choc is located in Krebs, near McAlester.  I just don't know where their local office is or will be.

Chase Healy called me a couple of months ago about a boiler package for a brewery he was starting in Dallas.  I need to revisit my notes and see if this is the same project or if Chase split from the group in Dallas and is now pursuing this with his younger brother.

Nice boys, their mother was my older daughter's fifth grade teacher and the younger of the two boys graduated with that daughter from HS.

they already announced distribution to some other, more mature craft beer markets like st Louis and possibly NYC.

they're clearly taking the go big or go home approach. none of that new brewery that starts with only commonly brewed styles.

hopefully this is the start of bigger and better things for Oklahoma craft beer. Marshall is a good first, conservative brewery. the next step is some more 'out there' breweries that take bigger risks.

the nytimes had a good piece on sour beer the other day.

what happened to dead armadillo brewing, another local that got some press a while back?

Prairie Artisan is ran by Chase and his brother.

I just opened another.  It's not cloudy.  I cannot explain the difference.  Still tasty.

OK, so Prarie won't have their own local brewery ala Marshall's (referenced as per forum rules).

Talking to one of the beer guys at Ranch Acres over the weekend, he said Choc has quit running some of their own brews in favor of brewing Prairie's beers.  I picked up a bomber of one of their brews but have yet to try it.

They are on the kiosk just to the left of the shelves with most of the other bombers.  That's one thing I do like about RA is the clerks are very well informed on product.

Prairie is making some fantastic beer. I've had the Standard and the Noir (oak aged imperial stout) and both were excellent. When I first read the label and noticed it was brewed in Krebs I thought that would mean that it sucks like Choc does, but it did not disappoint. I suspect when they say "Gypsy brewing" they mean they are just using the facilities there in Kreb, not that Choc is doing the brewing for them. I could be wrong though.

Either way with Prairie Artisan Ales, Marshall and COOP here I'd say the Oklahoma craft scene is doing well so far.. looking forward to watching it grow.
