It is impressive to see Obama appointing actual war heroes to run foreign policy. John Kerry saved thousands of lives. He's been there and knows diplomacy. John Kerry will get us out after 12 years of unnecessary war brought on by ChickenHawks who had never seen a battlefield.

You mean, Mr. "I was for these wars before I was against them"?

"White would be the first former prosecutor to be head of the SEC, which could be a strong signal that Obama wants a heightened focus on enforcement."

It's refreshing to have intellectuals making the most important decisions facing our country.

Better times...not bitter times. Change has come to America. ;D

Or she will be just another corrupt gatekeeper:

QuoteBut there's another side to White. After a decade as a prosecutor, she spun through the revolving door and landed as a litigator at the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton, where for the past decade she's defended executives charged with white-collar crimes. Her clients have included former Bank of America (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Ken Lewis, former Morgan Stanley (MS) CEO John Mack, and Tommy Hilfiger, and a decade in private practice can certainly change a person's outlook. Also, as the Wall Street Journal points out, her husband also represents corporate clients in SEC-related matters, at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Memory lapse today? Kerry voted to authorize us to go into the Iraq war.  It was the issue which got him labeled as a flip flopper in the 2004 election.

CoCopuff, Kerry did vote to commit troops but when he found out he'd been lied to, betrayed, by the men in charge, Busheviks, he decided to take the high ground. He got swift boated by them for his change of mind because he was running against the liars.

Kerry saved thousands by stopping the Vietnam War. Yes, he was one of the main players in waking America up then and he still operates as he did back then. He is a true American hero, a veteran who has seen the horror of war first hand unlike the clowns you seem to be advocating for.

Do you find fun in attacking our veterans?

Uh, Kerry came out against the Iraq war in the 2004 election when it became politically expedient to do so.

Have you noticed peaceniks have been relatively silent since Obama took office, in spite of on-going military operations and drone strikes on innocent victims?

It's amazing how your types get away with denigrating veteran heroes. "Peaceniks" are better for our country than you "war mongers." BTW, Obama is finishing those drone strikes used for cover for our troops to safely leave for home. He didn't light these fires.

There is a difference in denigrating someone's service record and speaking frankly about their hypocrisy, flip-flopping, or mis-speaks that happen after they left the service.  Just because someone served doesn't mean you can't ever be critical of them.  I'm pretty certain you've besmirched President Bush 41 over the years.  He's a war hero. Hypocrite.

While Bush 43 was in office, there was a daily body count in many newspapers around the country including the Whirled.  I notice this disappeared after Obama took office.  Why is that?  Obama has done a good job at observing draw-down timelines which were in place before he took office, yet Bush 43 never gets any credit for having a plan to bring these conflicts to an end.  As long as it's "your guy" in office, killing innocent foreign civilians is no longer a concern of yours.

Like I said, liars cheat and steal too.

And btw, Bush 41's impact  was small compared to Kerry.

I am very hopeful that Kerry will make a good Secretary of State.  He comes into office at a very hard time.  Over the past 4 years our relationship with Russa had eroded.  N.Korea is bolder and more dangerous than ever, just recently claiming to have developed a missile to hit our shores.  Al Queda has resurfaced in force in N.Africa.  We are sending war planes and tanks to Egypt that will no doubt eventually be used against Isreal.  Iran is on the cusp of nuclear capability.  Drug cartel violence on the Mexican border is at an all time high.  Our European allies have little faith in us economically.  Isreal questions our commitment and willingness to protect them, and the UN is investigating us for war crimes because of our continued international assignation by drone campaign.

We need a strong Secretary of State to take over, and many on both sides of the isle agree that Kerry is the man for the job.
