Word has it that OK+ (in excess of 3.2) Budweiser is coming to a liquor store near you. I am waiting for confirmation from Budweiser that this will be happening. There is confirmation that a couple of popular Budweiser products -- Bud Light Lime-a-ritas and Strawbaritas -- will be in liquor stores.

I think Budweiser is seeing the big picture, sales are big in liquor stores and Budweiser wants to be a part of it. Craft beers have been doing great in market share and Budweiser is adjusting its plan. I hope that this will help get Oklahoma's liquor laws more like the rest of the region's. We will have to see what will happen.

I will update when I get more information. So for a lot of people this may mean saving gas money on trips to Kansas and Arkansas for their beer runs.

This might just bring me out of retirement from drinking. Problem being is I don't like the three type that are being mentioned. I'm a full flavor drinker. I just wish that Coors would get on board. Nothing like a strong Banquet Beer.

Two problems with that:

1. It's Budweiser, and
2. Anheuser-Busch lobbyists throw a lot of money at lawmakers and law enforcers to maintain the status quo.

I guess we all have different preferences in our beverages.

Can't argue with that....IMO it's barely 1 step above Top Hat or Hamm's.

Ziegenbock is a really good drinkable beer, if not slightly pedestrian in quality.  IMO, it appears to be a competitor to the "other" bock beer from Tejas.  Up to now, it's only been available in Texas.  I'm guessing since it's keg-only, the marketing push is for restaurants.

I had some Ziegenbock several years ago and remember thinking it was decent. It certainly had more flavor than Bud Light.  Please keep in mind that Bud (etc) brewers put out a very consistent product.  As light on flavor (not really bad, just very light) as Bud is and being consistent is not a cake walk.  Some people like asparagus.  I don't.  Some people like Budweiser.  I prefer fuller flavor craft beers. I say that after m-a-n-y years of drinking Budweiser products.

This.

I started off in my teens drinking Busch/Budweiser/Bud Light, but only started recently (in the last 10 to 15 years or so) enjoying craft beers.  A trip I made to Colorado in 1997 was probably the start of it when I was able to sample many of the microbrewery offerings from there.

This won't do a lot for me (Budweiser high-point offerings) as I don't drink Budweiser that much anyway.  I'll continue drinking my Marshall and Prairie Artisan and Santa Fe and Moose Drool...you get the point though.

The only one of those on that list I care for is the Shock Top.  They sold it at the BOK Center and even in its watered down form it was good.  Can't wait to see how it tastes full-flavored.
