I'll get excited when we're able to buy Special Export in Tulsa... and not a day before...

Smoot says;  "Say whaaaaaa?"

Looks like he just had highpoint beer run down his pants leg.

This.

I started off in my teens drinking Busch/Budweiser/Bud Light, but only started recently (in the last 10 to 15 years or so) enjoying craft beers.  A trip I made to Colorado in 1997 was probably the start of it when I was able to sample many of the microbrewery offerings from there.

This won't do a lot for me (Budweiser high-point offerings) as I don't drink Budweiser that much anyway.  I'll continue drinking my Marshall and Prairie Artisan and Santa Fe and Moose Drool...you get the point though.

The only one of those on that list I care for is the Shock Top.  They sold it at the BOK Center and even in its watered down form it was good.  Can't wait to see how it tastes full-flavored.

This was me as well. Moving to AZ and then going to Telluride Blues & Brews changed my beer drinking forever.

Around here if you drink Hamm's you are over 70, and if you drink PBR you are a hipster wanna be.

There are a lot of different flavors in beers.  Ground up aspirin is not one I have experienced.  If you provide some examples, I will be sure not to buy them.

Let me know when stores can sell New Belgium.

Not gonna happen until Oklahoma allows:

*  Refrigerated transport of beer
*  Refrigerated storage of high point beer

Both of which are required by the New Belgium distributors.

As it is now, my Fat Tire (which is a New Belguim Brewery beer) has to be bought out of state, and the closest place for me to purchase is Caney KS.

OR.... You could make your own.  High Gravity has a Fat Tire clone that is pretty good.

Refrigerated transport, yes.  Refrigerated storage, no.  The second part is a myth.  Multiple states have New Belgium in non-refrigerated stores.  In fact, I've bought New Belgium in several stores in Missouri that it was not refrigerated.

Either way, you get forced to drive outside of Oklahoma. I thought it was the case because someone told me so and because the cashier at the store in Caney told me as well

Agreed.  The point is that we don't a full overhaul in one step.  If we could get refrigerated transport it would increase our access to more craft beer.  They aren't the only one with same standards.  It makes sense, a product that can "spoil" when exposed to high heat traveling down the highway in a non-refrigerated truck in the middle of an Oklahoma summer will most likely be affected.  I have always wondered if the brewers could sue the state claiming it is an unfair business practice for the state to bar them from delivering their product in a manner that won't affect the end quality.

Isn't this regulation written into OK's constitution? That could be why the brewers have not sued because it's not a business regulation per se, but a constitutional one that is harder to fight in court and they realize that it's not worth the expense?

Or if someone prefers that nutty-malty flavor, I think Santa Fe Nut Brown has a more rounded flavor than Fat Tire.  JMO.

Someone should start a private club with an inexpensive entry fee.  Part of the charter of such a club could include frequent travel to another state.

Oh, wait, I think there are actually already several of those.  Could explain the success of many of the mini-storage facilities located in the middle of nowhere, just over the Oklahoma border.  ;)
