Not much KT support out here, so I don't think she will pull many Southie votes.

I guess we can call Dooey the big box & sprawl mayor and Kathy the urban visionary.

Probably accurate.

Sick of the damned commercials.

It was a good time to work in the TV and radio advertising business.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Looks like they're calling the race for Dewey.

With 114 of 186 precincts reporting, he leads 53.3% to 46.7%.

You got that right. I happened to see that Taylor conceded with what I thought was 60% vote in and down only 3K. Is that premature?

I guess we can call Dooey the big box & sprawl mayor WINNER and Kathy the urban visionary LOSER.

It wasn't even close....

Anyway, time for the post mortem. What went wrong for Taylor?

I rode the bus from Midtown to the Dome.  I took the moment to ask the dozen people aboard if the voted.  None had.  Then I went to have some BBQ.
I ran from OK about 50-yrs. ago & in 2010 I saw downtown's potential.

Tulsa's in a Phoenix rise, reason enough to stick around.

Besides... you can't fully be an Okie except in Oklahoma.

Typical Tulsa.

Specifically; no particular vision other than a wish to grab the next bigbox.  Can't see or imagine "outside the (big?) box"...
Oh, well...4 more years of no, or very low, leadership.

But on a lighter note - they have found 17 vehicles in the McClellan-Kerr navigation channel out east.  They are being pulled out later this week...

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I don't know what "went wrong" per Taylor.  Probably a dozen things, many not of her making or control.

Moving forward I see the only way to make progress on the things I would like to see happen in the city is by doing them step by tiny step, piece by piece.  We are just going to have to push our way forward bit by bit.

Whenever we try to do something large scale, even if it isn't by other cities standards lol, we get too much push back and lose.

You can make a big splash by tossing in a large boulder or by tossing in a lot of coordinated pebbles.

It's not how we get it done, who gets it done, or who is in charge in this instance. It's about moving towards our goals.  We can still get there despite things being more difficult now.

But all you can do is, buckle down and get to work to try and make things better.

In the end, I believe that having good urban development would be good for our city.  Though our current mayor is against that, we can still feel good that we are pushing for what is right and try to make a positive difference in our tiny spot of the world.

Over a Month ago. I started thinking. What the Hell is she doing? In my opinion she had him beat. My thought was just stand back and let Dewey be Dewey. Let the man implode on his own.

Then the negative ads start to hit the airways. And not just a little. It was everywhere. Whoever her campaign manager was, has no clue how to win a election.
Three Million Dollars spent to make her look like a media bully. If anything it made people start feeling sorry for little picked on Dookie.
She just could not seem to get out of her own way and let people decide on what they already knew.
I think she would have saved a lot of money, and would be starting a new job December 9th. If her approach would have been more positive.
Changing opinions one mistake at a time.
