Look how it's turned out.

They are making money hand-over-fist for the Murdochians.

If that's the only thing you've gotten out of that, then you are no longer a recovering Republican.  You've gone into remission.

That's the whole point of politics as entertainment for MSNBC and Faux.  Make big munneh.  That's why we don't tune in at our house.

I never watch political programming anymore.  The only political news I get on the tele is from CBS in the morning or evening.  You will usually find Food Network,  Discovery, Travel, or A & E on our tube.

How has your view of the timber industry changed with your new insights?

With responsible cutting and responsible re-planting it is a sustainable industry. The biggest problem here is that most of the forests are off limits as imposed by the state and the feds. In Washington state Weyerhaeuser has been doing responsible timber work for years. On the road from Castle Rock to Mt. St. Helens there are numerous areas that were harvested since 1981 that are now back to what they were then. (Not including the blast zone)

Yes there are areas near me that have been recently harvested and look barren, but they have already started the re-planting in those areas and in 30 years it will be ready for harvest again.

I'm not saying just go in and clear cut the crap out of it, and yes I get being environmentally friendly, but strangling an industry is not a good thing. Crap, in this state you can get fined for capturing rain water on your own land, for your own use.

It seems impossible to escape FAUX. Waiting rooms, hospitals, coffee shops ad infinitum. I even had to ask a school cafeteria I was visiting to please change the channel lest I regurgitate. They actually had to get a woman with a key to unlock the controls to change the channel. Its like new age Pravda.

I told my dad who is a fan of Chris Matthews/MSNBC that I was going to get him books from Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly for Christmas. (Can I say Christmas here, or should I say 'Festivus'?)

That seems reasonable. It seems like people tend to overstate then over react then over legislate in every state (but not Oklahoma...). Then the bumper stickers start, the hostility blossoms and the fight is on. Where did I read this quote? "The farther a community moves away from the truth, the more they are offended by hearing it."

If it means anything, the oil industry and agriculture fight the same battles.

I beat you. I bought my Hannity style conservative brother in law a copy of, "Jimmy Carter, Gentleman Peanut Farmer" last Christmas. He loved it.

Just curious.  What channel did they change to and did it meet with your approval?

Jimmy Carter isn't really a bad person.  He was just not that great a President.  I do think he has sometimes meddled where he shouldn't have a bit though.

I vaguely remember that we moved it to what used to be referred to as the History Channel. And no, nothing meets my approval!

There needs to be a beer network.

I'd lose my job if that were the case.
