Totaling 800 hours, or 20 work weeks, or 8.3% of his total working time in office, President Obama completed his 160th round of presidential golf this week.  With entourage, perimeter security, transportation, and in many cases the services of Airforce One, the total cost of golf during his administration reaches in the tens of millions of dollars if not more, with some single trips such as last years trip to play with Tiger costing upwards of a million dollars in itself.

In honor, Time Magazine is providing a fantastic infographic.

But of course there is nothing wrong with this because Bush. . .

Every President has some down time. Does this bother you because you hate golf? Did you get scarred by someone touching your putter when you were young?

It's just a bit odd that the president would throw such a fit about things like the sequester, or close off the White House to the public, or any number of other threats and measures, yet still spend millions every month on his own personal recreation.  If you combine his golf with his vacation time, President Obama has only been in office for a little over 4 years.  :(

This is just plain silly. You mean he plays golf once every 11.2 days? Once every 1.6 weeks since he has been in office or ~3 times a month?

How much time do you spend whacking off to negative stories about Obama? I bet more than 800 hours.

RecycleMichael

Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner plays over 100 rounds of golf per year. That is almost four times as often as President Obama.

I love this campaign commercial...

I suppose it is of no concern.  Presidents are entitled to personal hobbies.  His just costs us millions and millions of dollars.  ;D

He's really doing a great job!

Do you have any idea how ridiculous you are being right now? Stop and go back to predicting stock market crashes will you? You were better at that.

Don't be angry.   :(

I think this will provide a great footnote to his legacy.  A island of proficiency in a sea of ineptitude.

Would it be better if he just went to Texas to clear brush?

When George W Bush was President, he took 1020 days of vacation, the most of any President ever. He averaged 18 weeks of vacation per year.

No.  Would probably tear up his mompants.

According to Al Sharpton President Barack Obama "has taken 92 days of vacation since he was sworn in," compared to 367 for President George W. Bush at the same point in his presidency. But. . . add in golf at 4hr's a round and you get a grand total of 412.

By the end of both terms Bush took 879 vacation days, which included 77 total trips to his Crawford, Tex., ranch. Nine of those trips were taken in his first year as president according to the Washington post.

But again, who cares.  Just because Bush liked to take care of his ranch and cattle should't detract from President Obama enjoying the fine game of golf at the best courses in the world on the tax payer's dime.

Great leaders need diversions.  Nero loved to fiddle.

According to Al Sharpton

I wouldn't reference Sharpton if he said "God Bless you" because I sneezed.

Well if I had referenced anyone else it would have been too far right. Sharpton if very respected in some people's bubbles.  :D

You're starting to sound as if you don't like the president, Gas. He also takes time to watch television and read books.

Our former president read books too, and again, it took time away from critical tasks like bombing civilians and depriving people of their rights:

May you live in interesting times.
