You should have come! Or maybe you did.

Didn't go.
1. The grass needed cutting.  I didn't cut it while it was wet from the previous rain sets and it was getting pretty tall in some spots. It's cut now, before the next batch of rain.
2. I live in Bixby.  I'm not so sure I am entitled to grill Tulsa City candidates.

Probably did but not all are willing to divulge their online nom de plumes. I was careful to sit on the high profile row with a lawyer on one side and a bicycle enthusiast on the other side. The cowboy in fatigues did resemble a cardboard cutout.

You should have come! Or maybe you did.

They had a nice cameo of you on KJRH last night.  We just happened to tune in at the right time to catch the story.  I rank them the same as you did.  I admire Alyssa's desire to serve.  More people should be willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in. (No, Aqua, not me, for the umpteenth time!)  I'm sure there are many committees someone like her can serve on throughout the community where that enthusiasm will be appreciated and utilized.

I appreciate that Blake is willing to act and speak without regard to being re-elected.  We need many more like him.  I get the impression Dan is trying to start a political career.  I think he will make a perfect politician some day and would fit in well in the Oklahoma House or Senate.  :o

I was really impressed with the turn-out and MC and I will make it a point to attend more forums.

There were two more things which impressed me most about Blake: his commitment to transit and doing a great job of explaining Form Based Code in a way that people could understand it.  Carlos did a great job moderating.

It was also good to see some of the stakeholders in District 4 attending.

Well Done TN!

Thank you all for putting this on. I know events like this are a lot of work. I really appreciated the chance to hear from those three in person. Just out of curiosity, does anybody know why the fourth candidate did not come (Julian Morgan I believe)?

That was the same thing i came away thinking about her. I appreciate somebody who who wants to lead with questions, and I understand being better in writing then speaking. And I appreciate some of what she seems to see as a positive direction for Tulsa, but a few years serving on committees to really understand the issues and system seems like it would help her out a lot.

again, thanks making this happen!

Sounds like it was a good forum.  Really wish I could have come, was just a couple blocks away but was obeying a rather grumpy HWMBO wading through a small backlog of Purchase Orders, Receiving Vouchers, Invoices, Receipts, Deposits, etc. etc. and putting everything into Quick Books.  Then on top of that battling an intractable computer virus of some sort that took quite a while to get rid of.  No more internet surfing during work hours for the employees on the company computer! Compared to what I was going through the candidate forum sounded absolutely delightful.

Might there be a video of the forum somewhere to peruse?

Malwarebytes (free) is your friend!!  And install on a CD/DVD as well as on the machine - some nasties can get around the on-board version.

Plus all the other anti-virus and firewall stuff you have to be using!!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Sorry to hijack the thread.  But just out of curiosity, if you have Norton and McAfee and perhaps add the Malwarebytes, will they conflict with each other in any way?  And really, I am just banning the employees from downloading anything or surfing the net on that computer so that should help the most.

Do not use McAfee or Norton!  They are almost as bad as having a virus, they slow your machine down something awful.

If you have those, get rid of them and download Avast.  That's what I used on my last Windows machines with no trouble.  MC is still on a Windows machine at home and she swears by it.

Get a Mac next time, no worries about malware and viruses with a Mac.

Second everything Conan says, also through AVG out as another free option.

They did not respond to our invitation.

They should not - I have never had that issue.  I use Symantec Endpoint Protection at work and it seems to do pretty well - IT recommends Malwarebytes.  Had a root virus sneak by one time and Malwarebytes got it with a DVD version....installed onto DVD rewritable during the install process....not just on the C: drive.  Pernicious little bass-turds!!

At home I use AVG free and Zonealarm free for anti-virus/firewall.  Sometimes a little aggravating to set up, but not much and they do very well together.  And Malwarebytes.  Have gotten virus' a time or two, but have always been able to get them out.  Also, I used to use SpyBot Search and Destroy...still do on old XP machine, but haven't on the Win 7's yet.   http://www.safer-networking.org/   for Spybot.

I also run everything behind a Cisco Linksys EA4500 router for  wi-fi and wired.  That seems to help some, too.  (EA6500 looks really good, so may have to upgrade soon....)

Nothing will get everything everytime, but I have had very few problems with this combination.

As for banning - well, good luck with that!  Put stuff in front of your computer(s) to stop as much as possible from getting in.  I'm sure you have conscientious people, but sometimes stuff just happens....I have accidentally clicked on wrong thing before and gotten in way deep before I realized what had happened.  We can talk more in PM if want, or I guess we could have a thread?  Seems like there was one sometime back on related topics....

And now, back to the regularly scheduled diatribes.....

Sorry I missed it - really wanted to come see, but was still out of town like always....
