I have heard from  a person who lives in OKC that they plan to build 3 more tall skyscrapers in downtown OKC and the city is gowing fast. The unemployment rate is very low, one of the lowest in the nation.

Oklahoma City's rate is 3.8%, Tulsa's is 4.0%

It's basically the same.

Please start holding your breath on three new skyscrapers there, that will be helpful.

Stayed in Bethel Acres Wednesday before our Thursday conference (coworker has family there with extra guest rooms) and was amazed how far out I saw the OKC city limits sign when we were on I-40.  You're practically still in Shawnee.

And what is that erector set looking thing on I-40 past the Robinson exit?

SRSLY?  My in laws live in Bethel Acres, just north of Hardesty and west of 102.

Yep, same place where i stayed.  About 1/2 mile north of Hardesty and 1/2 mile west of Hwy 102.  Well, not the same place, but that's the location where his family lives.

Not much difference now in the jobless rate, Mary Fallin has our state economy really humming along in the fast lane, the whole state is going very good --but at other times there is a big difference in the unemployment rate between OKC & Tulsa, sometimes Tulsa was at 5.2% and OKC was around 3.5%. Most of the time OKC always beats Tulsa with lower unemployment.

My transit is fine. I get into a car, and move. Is (mass) transit really that important nowadays? Or is it more about getting folks to a particular are in a city?

Yes, it is that important. We need a solution for everyone...not just for you.

Road/Highway/Bridge = Public Funded
Train = Public and Private
Bus = Mostly Public funded

You love your car and that is great

I would rather bike and do so safely without irritating you because I have to share the car road with you and your car.
When I travel, I don't rent a car...I use public transportation because it is easy, convenient and cheap and gets me close to my destination without the need to find a parking space.

When you travel it is your perogative to rent a car or take your own.

In Tulsa, options are limited. All of the transportation options are slanted towards your preference and very few towards mine. Car payments are not the way I want to spend my money.

Which cities do you usually visit?   And then it would depend on which part(s) of the city you need to access or want to explore in your free time.

I agree.

Then pay cash.  ;D

I agree.  -sweet!

Then pay cash.  ;D -  I certainly could, but I want my money for the future and not sunk into a thing that depeciates in value so quickly.

I would like to see a N&S express train north to Omaha, Nebraska- and South to the D/FW MetroPlex. IMO Tulsa being linked to the Dallas/Fort Worth area would be a big plus, but it's more likely they will link OKC to Dallas. Having a high speed 150 mph or 200mph train to Dallas/Fort Worth would be great. It would have to be a high speed train or it would not be worth it you'd be better off driving if the train is not high speed. Tulsa to Dallas in 90 minutes! :D

With the increase in Oklahoma earthquakes near the capitol a landslide is more and more likely.

City limits is out at about mile 147 on the turnpike.  Goes to Luther.  What a psycho bunch of nonsense that is/was!!

The erector set is a piece of art.  My understanding is that it does double duty as a hoist to put those rowing shells into the river....

???  How old are you anyway? If your a high school or junior high school aged student (which would then make the above post understandable) I would give you a pass and be somewhat polite, however if your an adult your simply rolling up a wad of passive aggressive sh!t in a dainty crust of sweet "just making a captain obvious, whatever could be wrong with that?" statements.

He's older than me, I think.  Certainly old enough to know better than just about all that carp.
