According to my hipster younger cousin these are the keys to success when hunting hipster girls:

Drive an Audi
Talk about traveling to places like Iceland, Vancouver or Turkey. Yeah, I know the Turkey one seems odd but he swears by it.
Wear either a trucker hat with some obnoxious logo/bling or a wool hat of any type.
Drive an Audi
If you are drinking beer don't order a PBR to drink, that is for hipster wannabees. If they have it, order a Hamm's.
If you are drinking alcohol order a Moscow Mule or some old school drink like a Harvey Wallbanger.

Say "I love this DJ" at least once every half hour.
Learn how to fake being a foodie.

Have well groomed facial hair that looks like you aren't attempting to groom it at all.

Keep your money in a money clip. Make sure at least a $50 dollar bill is showing, better if it is a $100 dollar bill. Show it often.

I recently had my first Kobe beef burger at a place recommended to me on a recent road trip, and while it was good, it's not something that I would look for. Too many local places around the country, mainly neighborhood sports bars, that have great burger and onion rings, and in a lot of places good local brewed beers.

I tried it last week and this place suffers two major problems:

1)  Food: hamburgers were ok, but not worth the price.  The fries were limp and the onion rings had a heavy batter than tasted like a frozen product.

2)  Setup/service:  it is set up so that you order at a counter and your food/beverages are delivered to your table.  There is nothing obvious or intuitive about this when you walk in the place.  It looks like a typical restaurant when you walk in with a bar on the side and a hostess station in front.  However, when I tried to sit in a tall top table in the bar, I was told they couldn't take my order there, I had to go to the ordering area.  It was only then that I saw the counter on the far side of the restaurant from the door.  When you order your food, you also order dinks, including drinks from the bar, and pay for your order.  Then they give you a card with a number on it that you hang from a pole on the table.  What happens if you want a second drink from the bar - now you have a pay separately for each drink?

Too complicated and too much hassle for a pricey burger that was not any better than at least 3 other places in Brookside (not even counting Claud's or Weber's).

Sounds like another burger joint downtown.

Apparently Hamm's is now the ironic beer of choice. PBR became too mainstream.

Wasn't meaning to pry....just saying you fall in that middle ground....porkpie's have been around a long, long time....shows how old I am - I remember all of the above...plus a whole lot more!
