And nothing for Uber drivers....

Except the State law dealing directly with ride sharing companies. 47 OS 1010 et seq.

And the Tulsa City Ordinance dealing with ride sharing companies. Tulsa City Ordinance, Chapter 2, s. 200 et seq.

No more regulations, what will regulations accomplish? Unlicensed drivers will still drive, heck, we have a lot of  Un-Licened drivers on our roads as it is, many are illegals. Why the problem with ice cream truck drivers? In my neighborhood we have ice cream trucks that spew bad music and one truck spews noises. Maybe they need to have some regs on the jingles if anything.

I agree with sauerkraut, for once. Get rid of all those pesky regulations that stand between businesses and profits. They make it hard for good people with only one or two convictions for child molesting to find a richly rewarding job driving an ice cream truck. And while we're at it, let's get rid of those antiquated health regulations. A bit of listeria in the ice cream is a natural way of making sure that only t h e healthiest people survive to adulthood. And what about those buffoonish food and drug regulations meant to prevent contaminated medicines from reaching consumers? They're nothing more than....wait... I just saw a huge metallic spider skitter behind the couch. No! There's more! They're massing under the furniture for an attack! KEEP BACK! KEEP BACK! I'VE GOT A GUN! OH, THE HUMANITY!

I think I'll have another cup of coffee.

May you live in interesting times.

When I was in Omaha, NE. Landscapers had a big issue they were required to get all sorts of permits and pay fees, then illegal aliens came around and  put a "landscaper sign" on their truck and went into business and undercut the guys who did it the legal way. The illegals paid no taxes or fees to the city, didn't get  permits but went into business just the same.

So your position is that if a law is violated, instead of attempting to enforce that law, we should get rid of all laws? Sounds great.

Worked for slavery.  Worked for alcohol prohibition.

Worked for OK vehicle inspection.....oh, wait...that one is still messed up.

There are some laws that should be gotten rid of....

It's not a Position, it's just what goes on for better or worse. No one wants to go after the illegals for breaking the laws. Must be going on in other industries too.

You really should open your eyes, ears, and mind to some reality sometime.

We ONLY go after illegals for breaking the law!  ICE is all about rounding up illegals and deporting them from time to time.  Of course, it's all "window dressing" to appease the unwashed masses (RWRE fanatics), but makes for some good headlines!

If anyone was serious about illegals being a real problem,....well the cure is simple - it is also illegal for a company to hire an illegal.  So they are also breaking the laws - many more times over than any illegal.  1 illegal breaks it once.  When Donald Trump hires 1,000 illegals, he breaks the law 1,000 times.  And yet, the one person is deported, and Trump is celebrated as having done something of value for the United States.   RWRE logic at it's finest.

As I have said before, IF illegals are really a problem, go after the people creating the demand and providing the invitation to come here.  Make it a civil and criminal event (it is now, but the RWRE fights enforcement every step of the way).  Fine each occurrence $1 million a day, and 1 year in prison.  There would be a mass exodus of illegals out of the country in weeks, if not days.  And Donald Trump would be facing the consequences of being the criminal that he is - 1,000 years in prison, billions in fines.

For sure. If we were serious about "illegals" the enforcement would be on the demand side. Like cracking down on pimps and John's instead of the prostitutes.

The fine for hiring an illegal immigrant can be as little as $375 per worker. Lets assume you'd have to pay an authorized workers $3.75 more per hour. If you can get away with it for a month, you win. It makes it a business decision. There are other potential penalties too:  https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/penalties

Under Obama (and Bush before him), enforcement is up by an order of magnitude (15 times higher against employers, more deportations than any other president against the immigrants), but the fines are a slap on the wrist to the employers. Even when we are doing more than ever before, its a joke.

The largest employer fine I am aware of was Ambercrombie and Fitch, but the fine was really for failing to keep I9 logs - but it would have only been a $1mil fine if 5% of thee workforce was found to be illegal ( Some other companies have been fined larger sums, but the companies I'm aware of are all placement/immigration firms that were fined for fraudulent practices). And still, the fine was only 1% of a year's profits (about the same penalty as a speeding ticket for the average Oklahoman).

All this wringing of hands, gnashing of teeth, and wailing in sackcloth is just grand theater and histrionics for the RWRE to placate the weak-minded among their throng of fans.  The ones that think Trump is a good idea....

He is not going to build a wall.

But then again....the Great Wall worked!  You don't see any illegal Mexicans in China!!

Walls are 100% effect. Amazing walls. Great walls you could say. Mine will be the greatest...

From the Wall of Jericho keeping out those pesky Jews. To Handrian's wall assuring that Rome will forever rule England. That big wall in China that kept kept almost all of the Mongol Horde from conquering China. The French wall built by Maginot kept the Germans out. The German wall along the Atlantic coast kept out the Americans. And that Wall in Berlin was both a PR coup and 100% effective in keeping real Germans in real Germany.

No way this plan could fail.

Illegals break the law when they come here illegally, that's a crime that is no longer enforced. In the 1986 immigration law it called for $10,000 fines per illegal alien  for any employer who hires an illegal, but the INS (now ICE) always waved the fine saying the "employer acted in good faith" We have the e-verify but employers are told it's racist to use that.

The illegal problem can be reversed & corrected -first by shutting off the magnet that draws them up here, enforce the employer  fines from the 1986 immigration law if illegals can't get jobs many will self deport. The 15 million illegals we now have  did not come here overnight and can't be deported overnight, but every time one is found he's deported. A cop stops a car with a broken tail light the driver is found to be illegal, back he goes.  The "anchor baby" issue is simple to solve, the baby goes back with the parents since he's a minor and can't live here alone until he's 18. The anchor baby thing needs to stop- the 14th amendment was never intended for that. Illegals dis-place legal American workers and legal citizens and lower our wages. We can't be a country without secure borders.

You started out so well with the first sentence....

And then back to normal uninformed gibberish.  Deporting citizens - even minor citizens - should raise so many red flags!  And even worse would be shipping their parents out without them.  This is the policy the US took with Native Americans until the 1950's - taking the kids away, sending them to "boarding school", and trying to "educate the injun outa them..."   The only thing that has changed is we hate Mexicans and Muslims now.  Or at least Trump and his minions do.

And the last sentence is so stupid and just plain wrong - doesn't happen.  Lower wages are the direct result of concerted effort of corporate America working hand in hand with their congressional lap-dogs to hold down the minimum wage, thereby trickling up to hold all wages lower.  Well, except for C-suite pay, of course.  Because they really are the important ones, and deserve soooo much more....!!

Here is the reality about illegals and jobs in this country.  The offer has been on the table for YEARS!!  Still no takers....  (Can you read English?)
