That, and the 3M decal process was much cheaper than embossed steel plates.

We haven't had embossed steel plates for several years.

I wonder how much the "visibility" argument is really about visibility to electronic devices scanning vehicles?

Since im going to be a traveling billboard do I get revenue from TRAVELOK.COM ?

Maybe the next generation of autonomous vehicles will scan my plate and play tourism commercials on their HUD display?  "Follow me to the promised land!"

We embossed before the last redesign up until those were gone.  That's been what now..10 years?  I still have two of my old Indian shield plates I saved.

Loved the shield plates.  One of the better ones I personally can remember.

We used to get new plates every year.  That was a pain....

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I remember that as a child.  Went to the decals in the late seventies if memory serves.

I wasnt clear; the whole tag art is actually a decal that can be peeled off the aluminum plate.  Not recommended.

Probably cheaper than paint.

I was told we went to the stickers after the plate factory burned then they realized stickers were a good deal cheaper than new plates every year.  Seems like we went to the sticker plates for good around 1980.

The wife said this is Oklahoma's start to the Hunger Games.. Start with a Mocking jay on the plate and next you know they are calling numbers in each county.

I think it's awesome we still haven't complied with RealID but now have new plates we pay for so OTA can test their new plate reading tech on the Creek to bill you higher rates for using the turnpike if you don't have a Pikepass so OTA can make more money to rebuild the Muskogee Turnpike every 3 years.

I have the new bird tag. Eh. It's fine. Whatever.

A friend strongly recommended that I take an X-acto and slice the stickers so that if someone tries to remove them they come off in pieces. Additionally, she said to replace the normal Phillips head screws with socket head screws to make it more difficult to remove/steal the tag. And since the bird tags are brand new, thieves will target them.
