It seems as though the City is taking an inordinate amount of time to definitively say that the amoeba that caused the deaths of the two Tulsa Youths came from the Mohawk Water Park...

The 10 p.m. news on Channel 6, stated they were "now testing the genealogy of the amoeba to confirm it was the same strain".....

Where might we be having this testing done since the Tulsa DNA Lab does not have recognized credentials??
Here is the latest story on the problem..
http://www.kotv.com/main/home/stories.asp?whichpage=1&id=88098

Furthermore, what does this say about how the V2025 money was spent at Mohawk???
From the V2025 Site:

quote:

Mohawk Park and Tulsa Air and Space Museum
$8.4M

Significant improvements to Tulsa's storied Mohawk Park will include signage, shelters, soccer facilities and the expansion and relocation of Tulsa's Air and Space Museum to nearby airport property will provide Tulsa with enhanced community attractions. Each year, approximately 52,000 rounds of golf are played at Mohawk, more than 534,000 people visit the Tulsa Zoo and approximately 42,000 people attend the Oxley Nature Center. This improved center of many interests on the city's north side is expected to add $2.1 million to the economy each year.

Bad times for the families; the father of one of the dead boys was shot in his driveway yesterday (seatbelt related?), a little over 2 months since the city settled up on the boy's deaths. http://www.kotv.com/news/local/story/?id=125764

Something is not right with this picture. The guy was shot FOUR times in front of his OWN house? BTW, what does "seatbelt related" have to do with a shooting?

iplaw

It means that our local cops are evil and shot this poor, innocent man in his own driveway for absolutely no reason.  Those dirty bastards...[V]

I'd love to see Patric go on patrol with our TPD when they work the streets of north tulsa and see how willing he is to let an intoxicated man rummage through a car while they're trying to investigate a burglary.

I bet the cops even called in the burglary call just so they could go and shoot this guy.

Between this and the incidents at the apt complex (rock throwing, gunshots from the crowd), N. Tulsa is certainly not the place to be. It sounds every bit as bad as (South Oak Cliff) in Southern Dallas.

Feh. I lived in Rust Belt for many years. Those so-called gangstas would pee down their legs if they ever were plopped down in, say, East St. Louis.

Rwarn.  You're right, but things seem to be getting worse north of town.  I'm sure it's my fault, or because of republican hate[;)], but something is going to have to change...

I must have missed some parallel thread here somewhere.

IP, the issues with North Tulsa is your fault. The sooner you start coming to grips with that, the better we all will be.

Instead of focusing on annexing the fair grounds or the bridge in South Tulsa or the airport, perhaps the North Tulsa city councilor should be focusing on saving the lives of his constituents.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Yep, ESL makes Tulsa gangstas look like pikers. [;)]

If a citizen is ask to get out of his car in his own driveway and he reaches to undo his seat belt, then is shot by a police officer three or four times, is the seat belt law working?

"Don't shoot! I am going to loosen my seat belt so I can get out of the car".

Time to get  out of Iraqi to do some training for our ongoing civil war.

The story on KOTV is gone, but I believe they found drugs (PCP) and a knife in the car.  He may have said he was reaching for his seatbelt, but that's not what the officer, who had already tried to stop the car, felt.  Why was he backing out of the driveway if he was taking his seatbelt off?  He has a criminal history, we are not just talking about some sweet little ol' man who couldn't hear what the officers were saying, neighbors heard the police's commands just fine.

I'm sorry his child died last year, but that doesn't give him a free ride to be a law breaker now.

Be nice to the police and they won't shoot you.

Believe in the archives another incident where an employee of a company reached to get the key to unlock the gate and was kill by an officer because of light shining on them.

Don't get me wrong.  It is a hard job where in a split second they have to make the decision of who will walk away.  If it were you would you not choose to be the one that walks away?

Putting your hands anywhere but in plain view of a cop, trying to drive off, or run when you are confronted or under suspicion is a great way to get a few extra orifices put in your body.
