So I have to ask, is anyone going to be going to tonight's events downtown?

Downtown Tulsa will be the place to be on the evening of November 18th.  Choreographed to stirring music, the skies will explode in myriad colors and designs from rooftop pyrotechnics as historic images flow across the downtown skyscrapers.  Public viewing area between Boston and Boulder from 8th to 10th Streets. Free entertainment begins at 5:00 p.m. Extravaganza Light Show and Fireworks begin at 7:00 p.m.

I should also ask, how packed do you think it will be?

What a show!

We were at 9th and Boston with our closest ten thousand friends.

I am going to hire Sharon King Davis and Don Walker to plan my hundredth birthday party!
Power is nothing till you use it.

It was packed like...

Well, I can't think of a g-rated way to finsih that sentence that would fit.

Friggin insane the number of people. I ate dinner at CAz's Chowhouse and got out about the time the show was starting. The big fireworks were going off over the railroad tracks. If I'd been any closer they might've blown my pants off. I watched the rest from 9th and elgin plus tivo'ed it.

To see that kinda effort put into the choreography. not just big flashes in time with the music, but fireworks hanging on in time with individual notes. Amazing.

It was great. I was at the stage. When the band quit playing, the dancers left and not too many people moved into the space. It wasn't too crowded.

The movies on the buildings were pretty nice but the sound, fireworks, and laser effects were excellent. The sound system had enough power to shake the ground but it didn't hurt my ears.

My 12 year old wasn't excited by the band's music, but I thought is was great.

I will have pix up probably tommorrow.

Did anyone get pictures or videos of it???  I'm here in New York and my parents in Skiatook weren't able to go in order to get pictures of it for me.  Anyone know where I can find some?  I know it's early on, but there have to be pictures somewhere already... :-)

OKmetro

Can I post pics and so on here on TN?

The show was amazing and the after party was cool... It was in the Bersen Center and they had a private auction...  Took pics... The CEO of Williams was there and the guy from ONEOK... There where several other people like can you say Garth Brooks...  I well post pics soon...

I saw the video on KOTV and am speechless. It's a shame I couldn't have been there. If anyone has links to more videos of the celebration please post them. I hope the city of Tulsa filmed this with some sort of quality film camera, which is the only real way to do it justice for those that couldn't be there. I was in Tulsa for the 4th of July celebration about 9 years ago and was blown away with the pyrotechnics and laser light show then, which was far better than any I've seen thus far, but this takes the cake. Crap, whoever put this thing together needs one big tip of the hat!

Breadburner

Watched it from the hill on the 13th and Detroit exit....They did an incredible job....Many Thanks to the organizers and donators....

I thought it was good.  I was surprised that the BOK Tower was shut out of the fireworks, though.  It would have been neat to have more bands playing around the TCC area, showcasing the music styles presented during the show to git folk moving.  The slideshow lacked a strong narrative element, and one may wonder how many of the Oklahomans shown were known by viewers.
